Tripps looked absolutely seething during the official club interview after the game. You can tell he is pissed off with that one dickhead fan and also hurting after the result.
-
“…led to a negative change.” It already has.
-
Yeah. He could have been positioned better, for sure. But he’s twatted it from really close range. You can bet if he was too far over on his near post. Solanke would have hit it across him into the bottom corner and the usual crowd would have been in here, saying he should have saved it with his hands and going with his feet was the wrong option. The whole goal was a clusterfuck and summed up our night. Longstaff lazily letting the ball go to them. Joelinton (I think?) getting bullied, midfield all over and then the lucky break off Willock just playing Solanke in with a perfect through ball. Thought he was our best player tonight and stopped it from being embarrassing. But he has certainly become a scapegoat during some of our rough patches this season.

I might be wrong. But I’m sure Howe alluded to him playing through it and that he wouldn’t have been playing, if it wasn’t for needs must. Very out of character for Howe to say stuff like that. So no, I disagree there. Everyone said how much more off it he looked and it got more and more strapped every week. He is top class. But you do wonder with his frame and his game being about dribbling and pace. Hopefully I am massively off the mark and being OTT. But it’s ‘worrying’™️

Based on his time here, he is. Before that, not so much. Signed with a niggle. Looked ok, came back and was then fucked with his thigh, so then missed 3-4 months from memory? Played with a knee injury for a good few games this season and was noticeably off the pace. Groin niggle, came back early, fucked again. Hardly a picture of health. I suppose you could argue that it is more the exception to the rule. But then the other way, he has struggled to stay fit in this system and in this league.

Well. I look like a twat

Him and Miley were the only ones that come out with any credit. Sums it up, really.
-
Not this again. Do other PL sides rely on 2 strikers made of glass and virtually no other suitable alternative, even at youth level? Gordon was good there against Man U. But, it was Man U really struggled there tonight and got shifted early on. Wasn’t effective against Dortmund, either. Even someone that would be more of a wide player and cover as a striker was obviously required and I think plenty banged that drum in the transfer window. Hardly surprising we’ve ended up in this position.

He can hold his head high in an otherwise crap team performance, bar Pope. 17 and a half, man. I was drinking £1 a bottle Kronenbourg and VK Ice up Ladies Night when I was that age and genuinely being a disgrace all round. He’s starting in the Premier League and playing well. Fair play to the fucker.

This is such a bad look. Shows that since the ticketing fiasco. Absolute strokers and happy clappers are getting tickets based on that. Only time I have seen away ends like this were under Allardyce and Pardew. Not even remotely close to those levels. Can’t imagine the usual away ends reacting like that. Entitled cunts. You can be disappointed with the performance and still appreciate what they have done under shit circumstances.

I actually forgot he was playing until Joelinton passed it straight into him and we lost possession for the 4000th time.
-
Deserve fuck all and getting fuck all. Understandable to a point with the injuries. But too many of our big name players have been shit tonight. Miley and Pope the only ones that come out with any credit, as it stands.
-
Such a weird sub. Should have just brought him on for Almiron.
-
Great watch that. Not sure about the film choice, mind!
-
That’s the wrong decision from VAR, isn’t it? I thought it was only if it was the goalscorer that handled it, that it gets ruled out? Hence why it was irrelevant whether or not it hit Joelinton’s arm against Arsenal. Might be totally wrong, mind and it’s still funny.
-
That’s far worse than the Rashford one. At least a yellow.

Has been mentioned a few times of late. I would guess the answer is not many. But I’d also say plenty of teams have systems or players that can cover multiple roles across the attacking positions. Liverpool, City, Arsenal to a lesser extent. I would also say not many teams have two massively injury prone strikers as their only genuine options for that position. I really don’t see Gordon as more than a stop gap. Which would be fine if the first two choices were not missing all the whole. We also have no youth players anywhere near good enough to step in. Or even a wide forward type who could cover.

https://www.instagram.com/reel/CzWWwFNIqc1/?igshid=d2QyZ3B4b3NzZTIw Love this. I also thought he was decent tonight. I always feel like he makes really hard saves look routine because of his footwork to get across and his massive wingspan. Dave is a top bloke. Was chatting to him at a local game the other week. Absolutely loves the Toon and getting up there on the beers.

Superb tonight, yet again. May as well just copy and paste that after every game he plays. I know he is an outstanding 1 v 1 defender. Seemed a bit harsh leaving him 2 v 1, mind. Hard to legislate for such a shit free kick and the ball from Adeyemi. But that’s the naivety creeping in again and experience at this level. Got absolutely punished on the counter. The same as the home game.
-
Not even that annoyed. We have competed with a decent CL regular across two tight games and just a bit of naivety and their experience and quality, has beaten us. I’m still not having that either game was some tactical masterclass from them. We just weren’t clinical or effective in the final third across 180 minutes and they were. Fine margins and we are still trying to become a CL regular like they are. Would have been nice to have played them with Isak and not half our team missing. Livramento was class, as was Pope and I thought both Joes were and all, bar the miss, of course. Not sure what’s happened to Trippier. But may as well get him off set pieces now. Ah well. Focus on getting 3rd now.
-
Been good since the goal. Trippier looks miles off it again. Same as last time against these. Just a lack of quality in the final third, yet it still feels like there is something in this, both also the same as the home game.

Didn’t Watford and Udinese do it all the while? Strange loans and fees involved all the while.

Still can't believe the reaction from their fans. Some tinfoil wanker on Twitter has listed out all of the decisions that 'show' there is a pattern and that they are getting unfair treatment. We had some absolute shockers last season and I think two apologies? Certainly for the Palace game. I think it was widely accepted that the offside against Forest was total nonsense, too. But not sure if it was ever officially acknowledged. I'm sure most clubs could compile a list of only the decisions that went against them and it would look bad in isolation. Than again, I can believe it. Because they are just mirroring the whiny cunt in the dugout. Thinking it is totally acceptable to carry on like that. I flicked through some of the comments on their conspiracy type tweets. Not one Arsenal fan chiming in with common sense. They're all doubling down saying it is the PGMOL and Premier League that are out to get them I don't remember West Ham fans or the media even mentioning the push by Isak on Aguerd for the second goal, I think it was. Or much mention of our dubious as fuck penalty against Wolves. As it seems like most people have accepted the 'clear and obvious' part by now. But not poor old Arsenal. It's everyone out to get them, of course.

Not really sure he can have many complaints with the officials. Udogie should have been sent off early doors. Then Romero decided he’d chip in with two red card offences in the space of 5 minutes.

10 game ban and 10 point deduction for the SIIIUUUUU celebration with the fans joining in
