Keep Ireland Irish

Never looked forward to a season as much in years. and we've been relegated. same. Everyone accuses you of being bitter when you say "I'd rather be in the Championship with Rafa. Than the Premier League with a Pulis, Allardyce, McClaren......... Carver type etc." But I would say that almost every NUFC fan I have spoken to, thinks that way. Not sure I will be able to get to as many games as I would like, now I am back playing. But whenever a game gets shifted to a Sunday or there is a fairly close midweek game. I'll be making the trip. As you know Scoot, I haven't been like that in years. Barely been to 5 games in the last 2-3 seasons.

This. Plays in a totally different system for Leicester and has a T-1000 playing next to him. But it's 'a disgrace' that he's not going? He looked massively lost against Australia and I don't get why everyone is so upset about him being left out? He was never going to the Euros. TBH, I don't think the squad is that bad. I would have taken Townsend, as I'm biased and he offers something a bit different. We are probably gambling a bit on some of the players fitness. But I don't think we have that many great options behind them. So I think it's worth the gamble. I don't think Rashford will even play, so I guess you could say that's a bit pointless, and all. But after the problem with Sturridge, the debut goal and the wankfest in the media. He was always going to get included.

All this because Tron mentioned signing 'a Shane Long type'

I'll miss his mad celebrations. The juxtaposition, of calm Rafa, trying to get information to players and Pecchia going coco bananas, on a couple of occasions after we scored. Was absolutely glorious. This basically. He offered some much needed passion on the touchline to compliment Rafa's coolness. Not good news, although I suppose Rafa won't have much trouble finding a replacement. We could get someone in with knowledge of the club and the area?

Glad he's coming out with all this shit again. Had a horrible feeling he'd end up staying. Need him gone and just need to hope we don't offer Taylor a new deal. Mbemba and Lascelles could develop into a decent partnership, for years to come.

I was having the debate about Johnson with someone who I thought was a sensible mackem. He's a maths teacher (mackematics ) and a pretty level headed guy. Even he was trying to say that it was only Byrne that knew and didn't seem to think the club had done too much wrong. Surely the people that think this. Are just lying to themselves, to make themselves feel better?

In their situation, it was probably the right way to go. They just about got out of it, by playing that way. So I guess it's hard to argue against it. I just don't see how he can get away with that for 38 games? The fans will get restless, you're relying on nicking a goal and then defending for the rest of the game (sounds familiar, right). If you go a goal down early, you're fucked. If your goalscorer or 'moment of magic man' goes down injured, you're fucked. I can't see how they will get away with playing like that all season.
-
By the end they were pretty good defensively, only lost 4 times since the turn of the year. Kone was an excellent buy Yeah, he certainly was. We needed a bruiser like him all season. Should have got Lascelles in the team earlier than we did. Fair point on the defensive front. I was thinking solely clean sheets. As I think they hardly had any, considering how negative they were.
-
From what I could tell. Towards the end of the season, Allardyce went with 3 holding midfielders and was relying on Borini and Khazri to create something and Defoe to keep scoring. Which in fairness, he did. Is that a formula to use for an entire season? It sounds similar to Pardew, TBH. Considering how negative his football is. Their defensive record was still pretty bad. Hardly kept any clean sheets if memory serves. Allardyce is what he is. A prehistoric, arrogant fuck. Who thinks he is some sort of genius. When in reality, he's a land whale, that plays God awful football. He'll comfortably see you to lower-mid table. If that's the height of your ambition, then great. But surely sunderland eventually want more than that? I think the fans will grow tired of his dross and he'll move on after a short while. When everyone told me last time we went down. We would have stayed up if we kept hold of him for longer. Well, I'd rather take relegation. His Newcastle team, was as bad to watch as Souness'. He spent a fair bit and all. Pretty much all on shite.

Sometimes it's not the best idea to post the first thing that pops into your head. Really can't see that. I think for the first time in ages, they won't be in a relegation battle for 30 odd games. But they're not breaking the top ten any time soon.

Last time we looked hopeless right to the last game of the season, we went down with a pathetic whimper. That wasn't the case this time, we went unbeaten in six and were joint second of the form table. We don't need a special intervention to galvanise us this time around, because we've got a manager who's already shown he can get everyone pushing in the same direction. Spot on. I think Sissoko, Wijnaldum, Tiote and one or two other so called 'big names', will leave. But if we replace them with even half decent players and keep the rest of the squad together. I'd be fairly confident in going back up at the first time of asking.

You do know he's just helped Napoli finish second in Serie A, yeah? Frequent sniffer of UHU.
-
TBF, that is exactly how plenty of fans felt at the time, myself included. I couldn't believe it when we got him. It's even more mental that he has agreed to stay on, when we're in the Championship

I always remembered the original gif and just found the dancing/shuffling, amusing. It's not IP, is it?
