  1. What the f***. I'd have more confidence in his dedication/professionalism as a footballer if his appearance was a bit more down to earth and "normal" , like Mickey Owen for example... Not the best example tbh - he turned out to be a detestable mercenary c***
  2. Yes he is, and he scores some fecking thunder b******s from a million yards out. Yards !!! hahaha f*** you EU and your metres. Didn't know that was allowed Seriously when you watch our lot you'd think shooting from distance was banned. Apart from Townsend, who's probably off. You're right. We don't really have anyone capable of hitting the target, from outside the box.
  3. I agree. I'm sure I've seen him at Swindon once or twice when they were on Sky, as well. He plays out wide, but he's certainly not a winger, like Townsend.
  4. If we manage to get Ritchie. I think it's nailed on that we'll lose Townsend. Doesn't Rafa like his inverted wingers? Townsend has played exclusively on the right side, the same as Ritchie has for Bournemouth. If we got him in and Townsend stayed, though
  5. He scored 13 in 29 (I think) playing for Peterborough. They're not exactly a top class Championship side and that was after him making a big step up from Dagenham & Redbridge. He's been playing for a God awful, negative Palace team and has been their top scorer the last 3 seasons. Despite limited opportunities and an absolute shitgibbon of a manager. There's clearly an argument to suggest he'll score goals for us. He's more experienced, he'll be playing in a better side and his stats suggest his goalscoring ratio, is in fact, pretty good. You would think he would start, seeing as what we're paying for him. But then again, with Rafa's favoured 4-2-3-1, I'm not sure where he fits in? So it may be a case of him being used in a rotation, or subbed on if we need a goal. Judging by his numbers. I think he'd be suited to a supersub role and have success for us playing like that. But I'm not sure we'd spend that much for a backup. Or that he would be keen on coming, if that's the case. I think it's a good signing, either way. A guy that scores goals when he gets minutes, is exactly what we needed. He's never really had much chance of finding form and getting a long run in the team, either. Without trying to sound arrogant. I do think people forget how poor this league is. Harewood got 5 in 15 for us. Lovenkrands was regularly on the scoresheet. Routledge looked like a beast.
  6. Yep, he's shown nothing to suggest he can score the goals that will take us up. I obviously trust Rafa but someone who has a similar record to what we have is hardly going to inspire confidence in me that he can and they can't. Hope i'm wrong. Errrr. I'm pretty sure he has: Correct. It's the whole Ben Arfa argument again. On first viewing, his stats weren't all that impressive. Then you go into more detail and for minutes played, converted to full games, he was probably our best offensive player. If you do the same as people did for HBA. I think Gayle is about 1 in 2, over the last 3 seasons or so. NUFC Online ‏@NUFC_Online · 12m Dwight Gayle next through the door at #NUFC 64 goals in 113 starts (Career) 15 goals in 27 starts (Prem)
  7. Sevilla or Leicester would be ideal. You'd be able to watch him most weekends and I like both clubs. PSG
  8. Seems like we're trying to get all of our good news in on the same day

Says he's 6ft 2". Looks a lot taller to me? Imagine him stood next to Rob Elliot Elliot would look more like an amateur rugby player, than a pro footballer.

Isn't that the song Geordie Dancer used to erm, dance to?

I couldn't believe that when I saw it last night. For a split second, I thought it was a pub in Wales, or something?! How incredibly small time. I guess the main thing is because they the last home nation left in the tournament. But it was like watching sunderland fans celebrate our relegation. It was as if they had actually won something. I had been rooting for NI, Ireland and Wales. But I hope Belgium annihilate them now. They couldn't manage it in qualifying, mind. So I'm not particularly confident.

He had a bit of a poor spell before injury. But that really isn't true, IMO. He used to also boss his box pretty well, but seemed to lose confidence in doing that for some reason, prior to getting crocked. His reflexes have always been very good, too. I know all top level keepers are 'good shot stoppers,' But Krul made some outrageous saves and was well above average in that regard, I thought. It was his kicking and distribution, that was always the biggest problem with him.
  14. The masochist in me wants this. Just so all the doubters can finally see how shit he really is. But having to suffer this cunt.... AGAIN. That would be too much. Not that I'm a passionate England fan, or anything. But I think I'd have to stop watching them if Pardew got the gig.

    Not forgetting Mignolet
  16. No way we'd pull it off. All of our chants are sung at a million miles an hour. The Blaydon Races is 'our' song and we've managed to fuck that up, by speeding it up like a track from Scooter's greatest hits. Oh and by singing the wrong lyrics. The bus is on Scotswood Road on three different occasions, apparently

Despite not wanting a new keeper and being happy with Krul. I think this is probably on the money. Reina made a fair few mistakes during his time at Livepool. But his distribution was amazing. I wonder if this guy is any good with his kicking and passing? The rest of the keepers on our books, certainly aren't.

The lack of a 4-4-2 has not been an issue. It's been misusing players, having no shape as a team and shoehorning players into positions they are unsuited to. It was like playing 5 a side with your mates. Players were just freelancing and doing whatever the fuck they liked. With little or no success. I didn't have a clue who was supposed to be playing where at times. I'm all for a bit of freedom and fluidity (Football Manager™). But last night was a bit ridiculous.

Yeah, I meant during this tournament and specifically, last night. Moving forward, I would much rather he calls it a day. Especially if we insist on playing him in centre mid.
  20. A keeper? I'd be happy with Krul, Darlow as his back up, with a youth/reserve player, as third choice.

The last bit is how I saw it. I was just speaking to someone in the office about Rooney and said similar. He was often in our own half, playing a 20-30 yard curling pass, to a centre back on the other side of the pitch. All whilst Iceland had all of their players in their own half. I'd much rather see Rooney trying to play between the lines, try and work an opening closer to the goal and drift in and out of play at that end of the pitch. Not see him trying to take on the Xabi Alonso role and failing miserably.
  22. What did you have, like a £50-£60 treble? Big baller!

    We agree on something, then.
