Wasting his talent at the minute. No movement in front of him, bypass the midfield far too often and don't get him on the ball enough. In relation to the 'stamp' I can see it going either way TBH. Just mad that El Abd can stamp on HBA's achilles after the ball has gone and Cabaye can get tackled somewhere around the knee and nothing gets said?
-
They've been better of late, they made something like 8 changes from their usual league XI in the cup game, we struggled to break them down until a wonder goal from HBA and needed a last minute winner from Jonas. Apart from that, it's flawless logic mate. Good plan Batman.

I'd actually play Obertan in this make 2 or 3 changes. Assuming Colo is fit, Abeid or Gosling in for Cabaye, R.Taylor for Simpson, Obertan for Shola. Obertan, Jonas and HBA in behind Best would work quite well I reckon. Can see Strolla playing though, imagine the tactics if Colo doesn't make it
-
Perch and Williamson as our centre back pairing would be a massive worry. A back 4 with Simpson and them two in would be a nightmare, imagine the long balls and compsure

Demba Ba, Demba Ba, Demba Ba, Demba Ba. He scores loads and we picked him up for free, picked him up for free, picked him up for free WIN

Cattermole targetting the England squad, according to the journal Not sure if he means a place in the Euro 2012 squad or if he is targetting their cars, but that was the headline.

Pics or STFU Nice to hear Santon is settling in well

Hopefully we get 15 since Ramadan Demba and not the Ramadan Demba that started the season. Ba looked poor last night from what I saw, was doing a bit of channel hopping between that and the cup game though. Cisse's movement was very impressive, that lobbed effort was superb. TBF most players would have struggled to look good on that pitch, neither game should really have gone ahead.

I reckon they will make the bench against Blackburn. Hopefully won't need to rely on them in that game..........

Aye as long as the FA Cup is contested by two teams in the top 6 as well i think. If that happens, we finish 7th, but Liverpool win the League Cup as well as finish 6th, we will get into the Europa won't we? Always get confused by this

Well we need these players back, even for England it's club before country for me. Part of me wants them all to do well, score goals and in Tiote's case smash people, but I'd be lying if I said I want either of them to progress and win it. The last two games have really showed how much we miss a goalscorer and in the second half vs Fulham, how badly we miss Tiote.

I much prefer it. Yep, it'a class view, like playing real life FIFA.

This is one of mine. Another is the line "if you did that in the street, you'd be charged with assault." I mean on nights out I've often felt like challenging for an imaginary header and elbowing someone in the face. I also get the urge to double foot people waiting for the bus. It's a fucking ludicrous thing to say, so overused as well. You're playing a contact sport, bad challenges, elbows, the odd punch etc are going to happen. All of the Soccer Saturday panel, clueless muppets the lot of them.

Guess he didn't join up with the rest of the squad in Tenerife after the French cup draw? Not in any of the training pictures.

Nice POOT, good work man! Not about to listen tonight, take it he is on at about 7 again?

Really not sure what this chap is on about Aye, totally lost me as well. Only one I can think of is Larsson, great delivery and scored a few, like he would get in the Liverpool starting XI though? His all round game is mediocre at best.

o'shea, brown, cattermole and larsson match anything they have and sessegnon is a cut above. i reckon we're a bit short of the required at right full and lack a goalscorer Read more: http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=666493#ixzz1kO0ntb00

Err Krul's kick that led to the pen, Santon's push (albeit outside the box), forgetting to mark or track Dempsey..... 3 fucking times! I would suggest Pards' subs were poor and we didn't change it quick enough second half, but it is certainly a combination of the two IMO.
-
I see what you did there! Very good

“Ben Arfa was good. He does give the ball away occasionally in difficult situations, but he creates so much. I think it was down to individual fuck ups as much as Pards' not adressing the issues in hand. His subs were baffling, pointless and too late. But when you look back through the goals, they all come from mistakes or slack marking I think, not 100% as I have tried to erase them from my memory it was that shocking. It wasn't as if we were undone by some brilliant goals or bits of skill. I am one of the first to blame Pards when he gets it horribly wrong, I just felt on Saturday the players were as culpable, if not more so. I have never been in an away end with so many confused and angry people though! It was surreal TBH, I just slumped on my chair in shock when the fourth pen got given. For me it felt like some sort of mad hallucination, you're nailing Megan Fox one minute and then mid flow it turns to Heather Trott from Eastenders, horrific range of emotions in a short space of time, it just can't be good for you. The football I mean, not banging a fat horror. It just all went to shit and I feel it was out of chracter for us, hopefully we won't see a capitulation like that again. It reminded me of the relegation season and past years where the back 4 was like some sort of comedy act.

What hit and hope is do with Pardew? The fact we play a lot of long balls under his tenure, players like Jonas, Cabaye, HBA, Santon, Guthrie get rendered useless by this tactic. We've had games where we have played some really nice stuff, parts of QPR, 30 mnutes or so vs Fulham, Villa away, Blackburn home. But we've also had a lot of games, I would argue more, where we seem to favour hoofing it forward and Pardew has even admitted using those tactics in certain games (Man U it worked, QPR it didn't). I would like to think if S.Taylor was fit and we had a right back that showed for the ball and didn't punt it anywhere under no pressure. We would actually try and play from the back a bit more. Colo and Santon are comfortable in possession and I would hope if the whole back 4 was, Krul might start rolling/throwing it out and AP would encourage this style of play.

Only real gripe is his kicking, it really is shocking and isn't getting much better. I used to think Harper taking forever over every kick, shifting everyone over one side of the pitch and then kicking it stragiht to Routledge on the opposite side was bad enough. The hit and hope is obviously to do with Pardew, but it doesn't help having players like Williamson and Simpson that are scared of the ball.
