  1. Hoofing hell, Shola up top. If we insist on pumping it long, at least play Best. At least he will put a shift in for 60 minutes instead of 5 minutes. Their team looks weakened, but we will still get beat.

Still irritating how patronising he sounds when talking about the likes of Obertan and Shola. We can all see they're shit, drop the excuses and drop them.

Spot on. A 10-15 minute spell of good possession in the second half does not mean you controlled a game All he does is praise the likes of Raylor and Obertan, whilst complaining about HBA needing to show more. I know different people react in different ways, encouragement, criticism, praise etc, but it's a bit ridiculous how we have so many serial offenders that get off lightly.

    Sunderland...

Really? Thought they looked poor and were lucky first half, countered really well in a much improved second half and scored two absolute screamers on the night. If Wigan weren't so profligate and the ref did his job properly, they would have been 2 up at half time. Set up for the counter with a lot of success in the last two games and had a lot less possession, I wonder if that is the way they will be playing from now on?

Didn't have him down as the deep thinking, philosophical type Agree that he should concentrate on football But it's an interesting quote in a sense that he seems to realise that his past is his worst enemy. I don't think he will "clash" with his manager. Quite liked the quote TBH, was just surprised by it. Fair play to him.

I am not surprised he's pissed off. Vuckic, Sammy, Shola, Best and Obertan all get minutes ahead of him
  8. Can't have that like, Raylor has actively contributed to winning us games/points with his goals and looked ok'ish for quite a few games. Add to the fact he's a right winger/right back playing on the left, he hasn't been poorer than Simpson in my eyes. Admittedly he has been tortured against half decent wingers, but I would still rather see him in the team over Simpson.
  9. Perhaps desperately trying to justify the £3m-£3.5m we spent on him and the 5 year contract, should take him out of the firing line. I don't condone booing, absuing or sarcastically jeering him, but it's getting beyond ridiculous now. When he is consistently one of the worst 3 players every week, it's no wonder the fans are growing impatient and becoming hostile is it?
  10. Only Obertan for me, who is the other player Ron?
  11. Agree with this. Would play Joans and HBA alternating between wings me self, but I think it will be Sammy. Don't really think we set up to play with wrong footed wingers if that makes sense? Sammy seems to be all left foot, a bit clueless when drifting inside and looks far too young/raw to be starting at this level wide right. When I have seen him, I am pretty sure he's exclusively played on the right? If he does get a game, I would at least like to see him swapping with Jonas during the match. Seeing as HBA clearly won't play on the wing, I'd like to think R.Taylor will get games out there, I personally think that's his best position. We'd be keeping our set piece taker on the pitch and he can actually cross a ball. Him and Simpson on the same side is a slight concern mind, but it can't be any worse than Simpson and Obertan.
  12. Just to add to the last 10-15 pages, this lad is terrible. If I trusted the board to actually get someone better in, I'd be happy to see the back of him. Fed up of watching him panic under the slightest bit of pressure, take 8 touches and then boot it to no one.
  13. Only time I have seen him struggle is against players really quick off the mark, Walker and Routledge for example. He is fucking lightening quick, but seems to take a while to get going. Problem is, if Obertan actually manages to get past him, he will probably just hold onto it for too long and lose it once Enrique catches him. Ober actually getting past him is wishful thinking mind.

    Leon Best

Going off Pards' recent quotes I can see Best starting again tonight........

What a f***ing stupid thing to say, we didn't HAVE to accept the Carroll bid, it's pathetic. Makes it sound like we want clubs to do us a favour by bidding for players, wankers.

Skim read the last ten or so pages. His passing was marginally better barring that horrendous outside of the foot through ball, the finish was superb and the link up play seemed to be there. Looked like a weight off his shoulders when he scored, he has looked like a typical Frenchman when I've seen him score in the past, he had the arrogant Henry/Cantona 'am I bothered' look. But he made a massive point of pointing to the away end, was clapping and blowing kisses after the final whistle and has since done an interview thanking the fans. Must be a real confidence booster for him. Can see both sides of the argument about is he an impact player, or should he be starting, but for me, I would start him from the off. I think he would feel a lot better in himself, there wouldn't be as much pressure on him to force the game and he would have time to settle into the pace of the match. He is going to lose the ball at times and misplace passes, but I think percentage wise, this would reduce if he started matches, as hopefully he wouldn't be trying to do so much on his own.
  17. I know it was only N'Gog and Klasnic, but did he actually lose a header? Surprised at how good he was on his first game back, Bolton were shite at best mind.
  18. Sorry like but this is disgraceful. Our fans can be f***ing wankers at times. I did chirp up and say which cunts are booing him, few lads in the row behind shut up. Wasn't many, but there shouldn't be any fans booing a player, after a 2-0 away win and getting an assist, regardless of how poor he is.
  19. About ten people near me were booing him when he clapped the fans at the end, fucking embarrassing like. He's not great by any stretch, but there is no need for that. Wasn't sarcastic jeering either, full on booing

Can only echo what others have said. Still playing some clueless, hoof ball for long spells. Not a coincidence that Jonas and Cabaye have been a lot quieter recently, Tiote too, but that might be down to the injury TBF. Best is clearly lacking confidence and looks so lost, he actually looks depressed! If it is the same lineup and tactics against Liverpool we will get humped. Long ball up to Cahill and Knight was such a joke. Not going to get much change out of Agger and Skrtel playing like that either! Even if Ben Arfa starts, the worrying thing is we still play it long and that doesn't suit Ba at all. Still, 30 points already is a great return. Just a bit unsure why we were seemingly moving away from a direct style, but now we are back to playing that way every week.
  21. Wonder how often that is going to keep happening? Only had the fluid drained two or three month back didn't he? Poor lad, 20 and his knees are fucked already!
  22. Raylor was laughing like a mad man, can't believe he was so happy there.

Yeah, same as the Obertan thing though. I don't want him to totally slate him in public and say how shite he's been, but saying he's been fantastic is just outrageous. Somewhere in the middle would have sufficed. To counter what you say, he could have come out with "we WAS a bit lacking in certain areas last night. I'm toying with the idea of tinkering with our shape slightly and maybe making one or two changes." Then gives Bolton more to think about.
