I feel like that has been the case a lot of the time in the past. But since the Brentford game, where he was great. A lot of the time, he has been lazy, ran down more blind alleys than an Oba Martins/Jonas hybrid, refuses an easy pass to play teammates in on goal and shirks even attempting to win the ball. He also wants to play centrally, but he is woeful there. I get he isn’t a striker. But whether it is as some kind of false 9 or a attacking mid, he is equally poor. He can’t receive the ball back to goal and he doesn’t seem to link play in the free role, either. We need him happy and in the team out wide. As he is quality and a match winner. It’s just where he fits at the minute.

Somehow, the only player in the squad that seemed to put more effort in under Bruce Quite regularly looks like he doesn’t want to be here of late. I know he has always had his flaws, sulks and ‘injuries’. It’s easier to ignore when he’s playing well. But the lack of effort and shirking everything is just unacceptable. That’s worse than a bit of bad form. He is our most gifted player and we need him to get out the shit.

Agreed on loads of the above. First few minutes. He made a few forward passes to feet. Where the usual option would have been a clip up the line to nobody, punt it out of play, play it backwards or lose the ball. He looks top quality and everything I was hoping for. I would say not to get carried away because of the opposition. But they made most the rest of our team look even worse than usual

He took Murphy off who had actually looked alright through the middle. Much better than ASM, anyway. Not saying it was purely down to that. But after that double sub. We looked clueless. I thought we were ok enough up to that point.

Their keeper has had a blinder. But I do think it was a bit over-hyped. 2-3 world class saves and a load of routine ones, due to shit finishing. It was hardly like we had them under endless pressure or had loads of clear cut chances, where we have carved them open. Too many of our players are finished here. If we don’t get 4-5 in like is reported this month. Going down and a proper rebuild wouldn’t hurt. Dubravka just keeps making errors. Ritchie, Longtstaff, Krafth are clearly not good enough. Almiron and Fraser work hard with limited end product. More worryingly, players that have ability and performed well at the club just seem totally uninterested. ASM and Willock were an absolute disgrace today, I thought.

Not sure why he brought Almiron on. Who has been shite offensively for ages and I thought Murphy looked one of our only threats. Did we even have a youth team forward on the bench today? As felt like they should have got a run. No striker really fucked us. I don’t feel like this loss is all on Howe. Most the players looked totally uninterested or just regularly made the wrong decision. Longstaff and Ritchie looked like they might just about make Cambridge’s bench, for example.

Yeah, I hear ya! I love Twitter for the comedy and keeping up with certain sports and news. But comments sections about 80% of the time and some of the absolute dangers on there make it hard work.

I find people pretending to be transfer ITK’s such a weird notion. Like, it obviously causes less stress and pain of course. But they are similar to trolls, for me. Like what is going on in your brain that makes you go online and just pretend to be somebody else and lie to thousands of people? Weird, unhinged cunts.

Seems a lot of people want to judge him on his last few months/half a season with us or whatever it was. Where he was in a different position to what he plays now and his first season in a new league and country. Nobody ever mentions the fact he scored 11 goals from attacking midfield (plus 5 assists, I checked that bit) in a shit team and he was our top scorer. Seems like so much anger has been aimed at him for our relegation. That everyone is just happy to ignore that he was a massive reason we weren’t doing a Derby County/sunderland by the time 2016 started?! I don’t think we’ll go in for him and even if we do. I think he would choose Arsenal. But I’d have him back in a heartbeat after seeing what he has developed into. Not petty enough to hold a 5.5 year grudge

Thought he totally changed his game at Liverpool to how he played with us, mind? Was basically just an attacking mid who supported the striker or sometimes shoved out wide from memory. Never performed well or regularly played in centre midfield for us. I think he would have learned a lot and developed at Liverpool, plus during his time with us to some degree. He was really consistent for them. High energy, pressing, carrying the ball forward, recycling it. Seemed to always play well when I watched them and feel like someone comfortable in possession is just what we need. Great short term solution who I think can come straight in. Probably go to Arsenal, mind.

I’d imagine he would rather go to Arsenal. Would be pretty amazing if he decided he might want to right some wrongs and help keep us up this time

I’m sure I read it was usually more of a supporting striker at Bournemouth. Like you say. I just don’t think it really solves any of our midfield problems. We’d have another player that can go forward and carry the ball like Willock, albeit with better vision and passing. We still wouldn’t have anyone to actually win the ball and screen the back 4.
