Yip, absolute beauts them boots, better in black.

I quite like Obertan. Think he will be useless against the Manchester clubs and Chelsea though, doesn't look after the ball well enough and his tracking back has been a bit hit and miss compared to earlier in the season. Wigan is the kind of game where he should shine, same as Blackburn, which was his best game for us.

That's the ONLY thing that came to my mind He stays behind after training, puts on a string vest and does a Rab C Nesbitt impression. It's a good thought TBH
-
I agree. He did quickly say, 'probably' straight after though. Still think he could do a job in a free role out wide.

Shut up! Make me Edgar, get the fuck oot man

Someone ask about Hatem or Santon! We're going to be unchanged Saturday, I can feel it.
-
Yep, I slated him a bit and think perhaps it's time to give someone else a chance, but I tend to agree with what Pardew said and do think some of the criticism levelled at Obertan is a bit OTT.

The bloke that kept saying 'As I say' and didn't ask a question and half made a point about the crowd, what a fucking mong. The presenter had to ask him if he had a question Pards has just mentioned Ben Arfa kicking down the door. What is it with our players kicking doors in

Nah you were right but Sammy had them first, a plain black pair he posted on his twitter! I thought he had a plain black addidas pair, they were pretty smart as well. See them on his twitter

He had Pantofola Lazirini's on against Spurs, lovely boots, shame he had the red ones and not black. He also wears Nike Mercurial Vapor boots. #stalker

Not wanting to start the Level 7 debate again and this has probably already been mentioned. But rightly or wrongly, the fact that the away end has increased by about 1,200 and the majority of the teams in the league will not bring anywhere near 4,000 will have a big effect. I'm just looking at the stadium plan for Saturday, looks like it will be a good turnout. Only really single seats left, even in the Gallowgate upper it's nearly all sold out. Still, if Wigan only bring 500 fans up, probably even less, then even if we sell out the rest of the ground, we're going to be 3,500+ down from the off. Have a feeling 47k-48k will be considered a big gate for us this season, think we'll only get near to sell out for the mackems, Liverpool and Man City at the end of the season.

3 or 4 changes for this, not the 6 or 7 we made at Scunny and 9 at Forest. Would like to see HBA, Marveaux and Santon get some game time. Would also consider leaving out Tiote, seeing as he's on 3 yellows already. Hopefully name a strong bench though, although we have got options in most areas of the pitch for once, such a refreshing change.

He was out for a good minute or two after everyone else had fucked off, usually S.Taylor's job! Barton and Beye used to do it as well TBF.

Agree. Although his all round game and overall contribution is far better than Bent's IMO. Although Bent is more prolific (I think). 42% Bent 51% Ba Over career stats I knew it was worth putting the (I think) in there Didn't Bent only get 1 assist during his time with the mackems?

I quite enjoyed the last two Q & A's he did, came across pretty well I thought.

He was a boss on Sunday, back to his best. 3rd yellow though, hoping his inevitable (sp) ban doesn't coincide with one of the Manchester games, really need him for both of those.
-
Thought he was pretty poor first half and rarely went at Walker on the outside. Really rate that Walker, but he's still a bit suspect and naive when defending due to his age, think Jonas missed a trick not going at him more. Second half, he pretty much tore Walker a new one, beast of a game from Spiderman, playing even better since signing his new contract!

Ah right, the everyone knows his name one. Cheers

Best performance for us this season. Was fairly solid defensively, could have done better for Defoe's goal, but it's a great shot and I think Colo rushed out to Adebayor a bit hastily and left him exposed. The little run at the end was quality, nice pass for Shola and his set pieces were looking really dangerous by the end of the match. Not saying he's the long term solution to left or right back, but he's a good squad player, that can cover a lot of positions.

You can tell he buzzes off the crowd and really loves managing us. At the game I noticed him pumping the crowd up twice, he spent pretty much the entire 90 minutes prowling his technical area and was always shouting instructions. Watched the match back for the first time on TV last night, is it just me or does he shout ridiculously loud? I'm sure I never heard what Hughton was yelling to the players. But a few times you could hear Pards: "Besty, fucking superb tight Demba, pressure him, brilliant work." Then clapped and just generally encouraged everyone. "Take him on Gab, open up, go past him" Were a few more times where you could hear him barking out orders, but can't remember what he said. Not the first time I've noticed it, he seems a pretty vocal manager, really like that.

Is there a chant for this bloke yet? He's too good and too much of a fans favourite not to have one!
-
Arguably his best game for us so far. Looked strong, quick and showed some really classy touches and bits of skill. He drops really deep at times to link up play, almost like we're playing 4-4-1-1, but he still manages to then get forward and into the box, his goal being the perfect example. No wonder he came off, thought both he and Besty put a real shift in.

Think some are being a bit harsh on him. He did lose the ball a few times and run it into blind alleys. Problem was, because we were pushing for the winner and the game was so open, we were left really exposed when he did lose it. Watching the game back last night, he commits a lot of defenders and certianly added some much needed drive to our attacks, couldn't rely on Jonas all game and Ba had gone off. Been said loads of times, but he was trying way too hard to impress and win the game himself. I personally thought there were some really promising signs from him. Depending how the game goes Saturday, I reckon he'll get another 20-30 minutes, then start against Blackburn.
