Only seen bits and pieces of Barca this season. I know their results have been shocking. But I couldn’t believe how shit they were tonight. Pjanic was swill. Griezmann was utter dog. De Jong never seems to impose himself on games the way he did at Ajax. He was the same tonight. The defence was just a jagged line and regularly over-matched all game. The usual pretty passing in the final third without threatening. Juve just let them have it in the wide areas and they never looked to work an overlap or cross it. Juve won at a canter. Koeman is going to have them bottom half soon if this keeps on

I’m being wise after the event. I know he is a classy player and was a real talisman for Atletico. But I always felt he was overrated and never seemed like a Barca player. They keep over-spending on attacking players. Their defence has been ageing/crap for ages and they’ve not properly addressed it. He plays a lot better on the counter with space in behind. You don't get that at Barca often. It’s probably a bit Sun Football to say this. But he doesn’t look particularly interested or happy whenever I’ve seen him. Often just gets in the way of other ball players and seems to be positionless. No idea where he is meant to be playing half the time.

Pulisic, Adams, McKennie, Reyna Don't forget Dest. Easily the best crop of talent the US has ever had. Not been up to his usual high standards tonight. But still showing more than most the Barca players. Only seen him a few times. But he’s always looked good. Kept the scoreline respectable in the Clasico. Seemed to be relied upon to cover multiple positions. He was playing full back, DM, centre back and sweeper. Having to cover for so many out of position.

Good Lord Barca are crap. How did Koeman get that gig FFS? The first has never been a pen. But they’ve still been comfortably out played.

Arsenal haven't done any of that for years now. Arteta did well to get them back headed in the right direction last season, but they've lost their way to start this one. Willian who has a bunch of fans on here, has been such a nothing player. He runs around all game and produces nothing, as he always has done. Has let Arsenal down big time. They may well have been on the decline. But nothing this bad. They’re absolutely brutal to watch. Not having Arteta at all. Lovely player, but I have no idea how he wants his side to play or what their style is supposed to be. Did you see them under him last season at all? Or have you just written that off completely now? No. I missed all of last season. Obviously. Fascinating. What am I supposed to be writing off, exactly? What was that much better than years before? A quick check and They finished 8th, just ahead of Sheff Utd and Burnley. They stopped playing for Emery. Seemed to be some short-term turnaround. Now they’re going backwards at some speed. You think Arteta has done enough to be positive about? It’s not like he has a great body of work and this is an outlier. He’s early into management and the early signs are not exactly great.

This is the most negative I’ve ever seen an Arsenal side. They used to always be exciting, regularly score team goal of the year contenders, dominate possession and often concede loads. So fun for the neutral. Under Arteta, they look so boring. Create fuck all, whilst not being any good at the back.

Not really watched anywhere near enough of other team's games to comment. But Jota has exceeded expectations I would say, the same as Hojbjerg. I'm sure plenty of Southampton fans were slating him when he left and I never remember seeing him and thinking he looked top class or anything. Wilson for what we paid and how valuable he is to the team has to be up there, also.

Wigan 1-0 NUFC under Allardyce on Boxing Day was horrific. 3-0 defeat at home to Liverpool was utter gash. However, the worst under Allardyce had to be the defeat at Derby. God, this thread is bringing back so many terrible memories. Drove there and back on the day. I think we had Viduka up top on his own, with nobody within 50 yards of him. 2 shots all game, nothing on target, Geremi and Alan Smith as wingers Lost to another Ryan Taylor free kick. I remember Ashley being sat near us and getting loads of fuss in the concourse at HT First game I can think of when it got really toxic for Fat Sam. Fans universally turned on him.

I don’t see him having the range of finishing of Ba. But from what I have seen so far, with his back to goal, he’s just as good as him.

He’s just likeable, really. Seems a decent bloke, he’s English (not a massive thing, but we rarely seem to have England Internationals). He works hard with his defending from the front and hold up play. He’s scoring goals off shit service and limited chances. Plus, to top it all off, he is a handsome fucker.
