These full backs have looked weak defensively all season and they’re not going to get much help tonight. Think we’ll get pumped, to be honest. Not even attempted to change personnel or shape, bar the keeper. Even that is about 8-9 games too late.

I feel like it wasn’t that long ago that I was in the minority on here and I was a big fan of his. Hasn’t taken me long to go totally the other way. There’s not many players I actively dislike. As it isn’t their fault they’re not good enough for this level and playing under a crap manager. But I just can’t stand this cunt. I’m glad Steve is such a wonderful man manager. Let’s just focus on that and not the fact we’re about to get relegated. Again.

Listened to Pod on the Tyne a few times now. Not sure what to make of it. Often enjoyed Caulkin’s articles and his takes on the club. But he’s allergic to criticising Bruce. Seemed daft that he was questioning why we didn’t implement this style and tactics earlier in the season..... Then basically said 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 is no different, before back tracking. Then when he started criticising the tactics and the set up in more detail, it was always “Newcastle” and not “Bruce”. Waugh seems pretty good and clued up. I don’t mind him. The clips from Woodman’s interview were decent. He comes across really well.

I'm about 50 minutes into this and it's been brilliant so far. I know everyone is different with their personality, memory of things etc. But what really stood out was a lot of the little details he remembered vividly and I think his love for the place and the club really shines through. He had some very slight digs about the fans getting on the players when they don't perform. But perhaps we are worse than other fans in that regard?

Plus we managed something like 1 goal in 8 games when Wilson was fit before Everton, I think?..... This new formation and high press may yield slightly better attacking stats. But fuck me, we're so open at the back and our current full backs are bad enough as it is. Giving them no support out wide, along with a non-existent centre midfield. Like you say, we look like we're going to concede whenever the other team attack.

Listened to the True Faith Pod a couple of times now. Interesting enough listen. Hard to say I've enjoyed them, as everything NUFC related is depressing ATM. Charlotte spent the first half an hour of last night's one just talking for ages, without actually saying anything. Was pretty annoying. But she redeemed herself with her criticism of Shelvey.

I’ll stick up for him on the throw ins, mind. Clearly don’t work on them in training. Totally static, or a few token gesture bits of movement where our player really isn’t showing for the ball and just hiding. It’s embarrassing and is yet another thing that is awful about Bruce’s coaching.

He looks crap. If he needs developing and coaching. He really shouldn’t have come here. Looks scared on the ball and is forever cutting back or going down blind alleys with his one footed’ness. Can kind of forgive the shit defending. As he gets no help and he’s playing in an awful team. But he doesn’t even look capable of playing a pass or cross.

I reckon he’ll come back in now. Make a slight mistake and then Bruce will revert back to Darlow. Who has been at fault for 3 of the last 5 conceded and decided to just fall on the floor trying to save a penalty

I think they’ll just cruise to a 2-1 win or batter us now. Had a few openings at the start of the half. But we’ve gifted them a goal and seem to have lost all belief. Whilst they’ve settled down a bit now. It was a game I expected fuck all from. But so frustrating that they’ve been shite and we played pretty well for 55 minutes.

Just watched his goal compilation for us on Twitter. Bar a penalty, a deflection and a header right on the line. They’re basically all gorgeous finishes or top corner. WHAT. A. PLAYER.

lets be fair he was snookered before he even started, the club has been so badly run on every level for years and the damage is done, the amount of money pissed away on shite transfers and massive wages is unbelievable Agreed. But I’ve seen them a good few times under him and they have been miles worse than the last few years. The high press and energy has gone, they don’t create like they used to, their passing is off and they are always wide open. Teams just rip through them with ease.

His approach play often looks good. Genuinely two footed, few tricks, fast as fuck. He just has the uncanny knack of always choosing the wrong option and a massive rush of blood to the head, whenever he gets near the box

Been impressed when I’ve seen Dest previously, but hung out to dry tonight. They set the bar pretty high over the years and not the strongest and most settled side to be coming into.
