Was just thinking the same thing reading through the thread. We're playing Vurnon Anita on the right wing, that alone tells you we need some quality reinforcements there. In terms of priorities I think that's number one at the moment. We have Mitro and SDJ (maybe) coming back so there's not so much pressure for a striker although a quality addition would be nice. Left back we need an upgrade also but I think that if we're not going to play Sissoko or Tiote we really need to get a decent CM before that. The main thing for me is that we buy quality players now. No more squad fillers, we need some real talent now.

His range of passing is excellent but it's starting to look like that's all he brings to the table. You need a bit more than that to play at the top level in such a critical position imo.

It's not a good league Burnley and Hull proved that last year and we proved that in 2009. The problem is the first 2 games we have played negatively against two teams who were nearly relegated last year on top of the team slection which has been bewildering. It's only 2 games but the the mistakes made in those two teams in selction and tactics has been poor. Rafa will hopefully see put this right on Wednesday and a new winger and striker are made this week also. How Anita and Dummett keep getting a game is bewildering. Do I think it will come together possibly which is a big change from a cople of weeks ago when I would have said probably. Dummett I can kind of see as we don't have another non-ginger left back but the Anita one is baffling. He's not a right winger in a million years. If we're really stuck there he could play Janmaat on the wing and Jesus at right back. At least we'd keep our width and get some decent crosses in.

Tactics and team selection have a lot to do with it like. Nobody is forcing him to play Anita on the right wing.

More concerned that we seem to be incapable of creating a goal from open play. Been very negative so far, we should be going full Keegan in this league.

There's not two defensive midfielders though 3 last week, 2 this week. Count. Who are the two defensive midfielders? Unless Anita isn't playing on the wing as per the team sheet then there's only Hayden. And Anita. He's a DM, not a winger. He's about as much a winger as Colback's a striker. I agree that Anita shouldn't be playing and get your point that he'll offer nothing, but we're not setup playing a formation with 2 defensive midfielders. This was my point given that people are saying the formation is setup negative. It's not, we just have a s*** player on the wing that we don't want there (because Ritchie had a knock). We have a player on the wing that can't do anything going forward, that's the point Guess Janmaat is supposed to have the freedom to attack with Anita covering up. Why not just play Anita right back then? Anita as a right winger is pretty bad in terms of team selection.
