Can’t help but feel Joelinton needs to provide a box threat rather than hanging wide as much when we’ve no striker on the field. Need more presence in there.
-
Gotta say I like Trippier and Hall in the side. Gives us loads of options for progression along with Schar and Bruno.
-
the wait for VAR on Burn's goal was agony too . Tried to rule it out for both offside and handball!
-
always has been very obviously a much better player when confident, but he gets nowt but dogs abuse from the fans. It's really frustrating.
-
7 minutes here. Mostly I love that it was Miggy, Longstaff, Burn and Schar who got the goals with Big Jam skipper . Just makes it more special somehow.
-
greek keeper guy kicking the ball straight back to them with 30 seconds to go
-
Osula has looked quick, at least.
-
he’s been a bit like this all season. Really different to how he was playing last season. Don’t think I’ve seen him dribble past anyone this season yet whereas he was doing it for fun last year.
-
Livramento’s really not got going at all this season.

1 touch for Osula this half
-
completed all 4 of his passes!

can’t believe this is a full stadium
-
only noise in the stadium has been whinging

without a Trippier/Hall/Bruno we have very little passing ability to hurt teams. Reliant on Schar for all build up.
-
nice play from Sean.
-
don't mind if he starts at all. Still looks like he needs game time to me.
-
All of these are to his right. I do wonder if/when teams will cotton on to him being weak to his left... especially low.
-
shocking from Burns. Easy, easy chance.
-
I think Miley is quite similar to Bruno in that he could probably do both well but also lacks pace to the extent that he’ll need someone to cover those deficiencies. Plenty of time for him to improve physically, mind.
-
Maybe. I think we need to see a bit more of him to see if he’s safe enough to play there in the PL. Tbf, am I right in thinking when Bruno first came into the side we had Shelvey as the DM and Bruno as an 8?
-
I genuinely think that would be his best position tbh, but it’s just not something that seems to exist in football and modern systems anymore. With Bruno I think it could work though because he’s still very good at pressing and winning the ball. We’d need to find another player who can come deep and receive the ball from the GK/CBs though.

just watched the full 90 minutes and really the three times he got caught with the ball all came in the last 25 minutes where he was visibly and understandably a bit knackered. He was pretty immaculate with the ball before that. I think he’s still got some fitness work to do.
-
Also notable how Trippier looked much more like himself. Getting forward aggressively and going really tight to his man defensively. Commanding those around him and playing out really well. He was unlucky for their goal… actually won the ball but it bounced kindly for Grealish.
