silver lining of the injury crisis is that we’re getting this lad some development. He could be a star for us for 15+ years.
-
it’s absurd when he plays like that. His decision making and use of the ball is so much better than anyone else I’ve seen play for us.

One thing I really like from those clips is that often when he receives the ball to feet he controls it with his weaker right foot and has already squared himself up to the defender before controlling it. This means he's ready to go outside or inside before he's even received the ball and it's the sort of thing you mostly see from elite wingers like ie Saka. What a perfect loan for him btw. Playing for the Dutch champions in the CL against teams like Atletico after only really having half a season in the Danish league. There will be loads of room for him to develop still. I'm sure Howe will have a look at him in pre-season.

He would've pressed and worked reasonably hard for Howe, I think. I don't really think of HBA as being a lazy player; he just really, really didn't want to do what Pardew wanted him to do which was play as an auxiliary right wing back without the ball.

this Pellistri lad looks rubbish

Oliveira is rubbish

Few injuries on the wet pitch tonight hopefully

Thought his passing and touch were pretty good tbh. Second half the whole team were just clearing it instead of passing out so I'm not going to judge him individually on that. He played an excellent pass off his left foot in the first half which Isak and Gordon were too knackered to make the run for but both acknowledged.

Expecting something special from his performance tonight

Same team as Saturday. Dubravka, Karius, Hall, Dummett only senior players that can possibly be on the bench I think?
-
Romano linked us with him this summer just gone I've slightly misremembered it. Thought we'd actually offered WH some money.

They thought they would get through our press to get Mbappe in behind our CBs. Their whole forward line were incredibly lazy though and basically didn't move. I can't imagine they'll be that bad again.

I think the point was more that Neto's injury history suggests it might be a bit much for him under Howe. I think Gordon leads the PL for sprints this season by miles iirc and obviously Miggy sprints around a lot too. Our wingers have to do that both to press and to cover back defensively. It might be a step too far for Neto's body given his history of injuries the past few seasons. He seems to get both muscle and joint injuries sadly. I agree we need more technical quality though of course. We tried to get Szoboszlai/Paqueta tbf. Those two have that mix of technicality and physicality and I'd expect us to continue trying for those types. We bought Isak, Botman, Trippier. A more technical goalkeeper would be my priority for the same reason tbh. We need to have more control in games.

I’m guessing Krafth isn’t registered for the CL?
