It takes incredible levels of stupidity to send a team out second half like that after watching Spurs dismantle a high line against Everton a couple of weeks ago.
-
Burn has been a proper imbecile today.
-
really bad tactically today
-
Idk how Bentancur headbutts ASM but we end up with two yellows, like. PL refs are mad.
-
Want a bigger header from Burn on the first ball in really.
-
Bruno does everything Shelvey can twice as well.
-
Romero is some player.
-
We’ve gone a bit too passive here.
-
Only any good 1 in 5 games apparently.
-
He was good against Liverpool too. Everyone was rubbish vs Cambridge, Man City, Arsenal and Leicester. It’s just nonsense.
-
He's had 2 training sessions in 4 weeks because of injury/illness. Nobody was moaning about him in the period before that where we were winning games and he was a functional part of the team.
-
Probably going against the grain here but I don't see reintroducing Shelvey as solving any of the issues last night. It seems a bit knee jerk to me because we've lost the 2 games he hasn't played. Bruno played his role last night and did everything Shelvey does but better. The issue was that our attacking play is heavily reliant on our full backs and our wide players. Targett was all right, but the other 3 were absolutely terrible in an attacking sense. Our full backs have the ball a lot and there we just spammed hopeful long balls down the line all game. We needed better movement from the front three. Look at how Spurs destroyed Everton - they're very vulnerable to runs in behind on the break and we basically did none of that. The two times we did Fraser almost got in but for a cracking bit of defending from Coleman (Fraser also really should've done better) and Bruno played a class through ball to Almiron who just isn't a right winger.

He's really good. Passed the eye test and having just had a look at his numbers they're really good too. Most touches, most passes (63/67, 94%), high successful pressures (60%), most carries, most progressive carries, most tackles (100% won), most interceptions, most fouls drawn, 2nd most recoveries.

Small sample size but my hypothesis is that Joelinton's game will suffer when ASM isn't in the team as well. It's weird but he thrives on covering a lot of ASM's defensive work which he doesn't need to do when Fraser's playing; and in an attacking sense he links up with ASM much better too.

Get rid in the summer! Lazy! Unfit! Oh no wait. I like Eddie Howe but we’d be absolutely slating Bruce if he was playing ASM whilst injured/unfit like this.
-
Needs to start games. Our attack is absolutely tragic without him.
-
Chris Wood. Meh.
-
Had proper nonce vibes didn’t it.
-
Might get shot for this but Joelinton needs to do more. Was barely in that half, not much defensive contribution either.
-
Think Targett's more unlucky to miss out than Burn. At least a centre back there are actually options, but we've only got a bang out of form Luke Shaw in there for left back

Think there’s a load of norovirus going round atm too. Could be owt.

The "delighted Ashley has gone, but uncomfortable with Saudi ownership" thread

What has that got to do with NUFC? Unless you’re saying you’re fine with our owners executing people because USA also does it?? -

It's not necessarily stained by grimness to the extent of NUFC unfortunately. As much as I despise capitalism we're beyond the deep end of the cesspool here. Our owners executed 81 people yesterday. 81 people's lives. -
Watkins is not very good. Can't believe he's being linked with Arsenal.

That is an absolute fucking joke man. WTF
