I think Joelinton can play Willock’s role in the team better than Willock can to be honest. It’ll be fine when Bruno comes back.

yeah, it’s mad. We had basically no midfield yesterday because neither Longstaff or Joelinton can positionally play as a single pivot, so both played much deeper than they usually do to compensate. Keep Shelvey or replace him with another specialist 6 who can slot straight in for Bruno and our midfield structure looks way better. Willock’s injured now. It was an absolutely mental decision that will cost us a lot of points.

Again I would say it’s extremely difficult for any attacking player on our left side at the moment because they get absolutely no support and most of our play goes down the right. Cannot wait for Bruno to come back so that Joelinton can go back to playing as a left-sided 8.

I thought he looked good. Could do with getting a bit wiser though as I thought there were a couple of situations where he could’ve tried to win a penalty.

I think most people who were happy also assumed we must be signing a replacement because it would be suicidal to go into the second half of the season with 4 midfielders to fill 3 positions.

He definitely needs players running beyond him. His passing is really good. Don’t feel like Gordon ever got beyond him or even near him as an option because he was too bothered about overloading the wings, and the wingers were too wide.

the main concern I have is that our high press and counter-press have all but gone recently. It’s very low energy.
