We're lucky only to be 1 down i think. I feel Murphy has been our best player so far, but he still has no end-product so that is a pretty damning indictment of us. Just too many individual players screwing up the final pass, even though as a team i think we have worked reasonably well. Lucky for us Gundogan is playing like Jack Colback or it might have been a couple of goals from him.

Did they just do a foul throw, get a do-over from the ref and then foul throw it again?
-
I mean the commentator saying its not a yellow. "controversial". Clearest yellow I've seen, smashes into him with no thought of going for the ball. Also a yellow for kicking the ball away afterwards.

Really wish we would start tonali at this point.
-
Might be Arteta-gate whinging have the refs deciding to make a stand though? Has to start somewhere. I'd be happy if Bruno doesnt have to get fouled 15 times per game.
-
Just me happy with everyone getting booked all the time? The amount of times people are just fouling eachother on purpose, kicking the ball away and stopping counters has become ridiculous. Give me some sending offs next.

Alexis mcallister is above him too. I wouldn't take a swap deal + 50m.

Clear yellow card. Very happy to see it given. The problem is like every referee in the prem its completely random wheher you get it or not. They only give it once in a while. Funny when when it happens to arsenal though.

Pretty sure the brentford fans were singing "youre just a shit david raya" to ramsdale.

When forest paid 35m for Anderson I was sure we'd have already agreed a fee for Morgan Gibbs White or something. If this comes off I'll always believe its just a swap deal. Happy enough with it. Elanga is quick and young, even if he in a few years time don't quite make the grade we should be able to sell him on.

Absolutely loving Tonali. What a massive upgrade on Longstaff, his brain and skill is miles ahead. I kind of wanteda new RW more. But i can see why we are desperate for Guehi. With Schar out of the teams our passing out from behind is dreadful.

The sky coverage. It hits his arm, fine its high up but when you score with it surely an arm is an arm? "i think it hits the shoulder".

Hard to believe we want to spend 65m on a CB and have Murphy/Longstaff starting this season. Desperate for some quality on the right.
-
You're probably right. I just dont really see us needing to do things very differently. If you have to prioritize one player it has to be Gordon. But that being said I'm sure Barnes will get plenty of chances this season. It was probably a bit easier keeping him happy with european football and the added matches.
-
No doubt for me Gordon is the better player. We should have 2 players fighting for each position and also to come off the bench. If Barnes wants to play, play better and take your chances when you do come on. That said if he starts whinging I wouldn't mind selling him for a bit more than we paid for him only so we can spend more, as player trading seems to help PSR.

Both Maddison and Son have always been fair-weather players for me. Spurs in general are very easy to put on the back foot.

Just me whos watched Longstaff smashing down the wanker about 5 times on that?
-
Can't disagree with that. Their winger squared up to him 1 on 1 most of the match and got nothing. He is so strong defensively.

Thought we were ok before the sending off but not great. Still got in some good positions with the movement on the right between longy, Tino and Murphy, just didn't get the final ball right. Gordon clearly still not 100% up to match fitness, and then our press suffers which wasn't great, even though we did get some moments with it. Lewis Hall offensively is so good. He might end up with a few 10 out of 10 performances, but also some howlers with his defending. Might be a case sometimes of using one of the taller lads like Kelly at LB when we are under the cosh, with Hall playing when we are at home or chasing a goal. Thought Howe won the tactical battle in the 2nd half. Walker Peters was causing us a lot of issues in the first half, but Southampton put him on the right to target Lewis Hall. Didnt account for Joelinton being a monster basically playing left wing back to left wing. Easily the man of the match for me even if he hadn't scored. Thought the whole back 4 was immense, Livra didnt get much protection but performed well, and Krafth also did very well with Burn being the standout back there. Counter attacking by himself isnt really Isak's game but he is so deadly and skilled the few times he does get the ball.

I mean I'll watch Kai Havertz getting choked all day so fair play.

Go Burn go!

I mean even Diaz moves towards Schars head as well. The difference is once they touch he jumps back and writhes on the ground.

I mean I've been hating the refs from the first minute of this PL start. This didnt help.
