Bergkamp and Zidane sometimes appeared to be lazy, but it was just their natural talent to make the difficult seem so easy. You cannot coach what these players were capable of.
A maverick type of player, one that isn't necessarily controversial, but divides opinions and always provides entertainment. Every sport needs characters like this imo.
The game was very open and he had a lot of space to run at, which is when he is at his best. When the game is tight and we are static, he looks very average. Having said that, it is Pardews fault we are static, not his.
I know I sound like pardew here, but he offers Fuck all when we don't have the ball, he often goes missing when we are on the back foot. He seems best used as an impact sub at this moment in time imo. If he starts producing consistantly he then should get a start.
Almost every team tries to hit a long ball forward into that area straight from a kick off, at some point. I would have been fucking raging at my full back for not being more alert to the run Sammy made.
Hate saying this, but that second half display shows that some of the key players in our team are still behind him. If there was expectation in the squad that Pardew was going to be sacked any time soon, we would have rolled over and lost by 3 or 4 today. As much as I dislike the bloke at least the players are still fighting for him and the club.
Meh, Allardyce has encouraged his sides to play an awful style of football for well over a decade. Don't let West Hams current form cloud that. They are playing well in spite of him, not because of him imo.
