Yep - this is it for me. He’s got something other players can’t do. The issue before he was either too far from goal or too isolated. For me, Howe should have been working on that tactically not shoe horning Gordon up front.

I’m at the point where I don’t think any manager would get a major upturn with the player base we have. The decline of players like Pope, Murphy, Tonali, Botman, Livramento, Joelinton, Gordon, Barnes has been really quite staggering. Add in completely failed transfers like Elanga and Wissa. Woltemade has struggled to work on Howe’s preferred play style. If you look at players who we can say have had decent seasons you’re looking at Bruno, maybe Hall. Miley and Ramsay get mentioned but they’ve basically been a 7/10 and looked good in comparison to how diabolical the rest have been. Not trying to trigger the Howe out lot (for once) as I think he’s also been shit this year. But we really need a massive massive clear out and restructure.

Tactically I feel like Howe has had one over Arteta in recent seasons. We should have beaten them at home this year bar some shit goals. I don’t fear them the same way I do when we face Pep for example. I’d absolutely love to scupper their chances today too.

Think my point is really clearly about how we can’t take the piss on them turning after a poor performance when a good section of our fan base has turned on Howe after one bad season despite what he’s achieved…. Or we look like fucking idiots.

Not really sure as a fan base we can claim any moral high ground after the Howe situation this year.
