I might have missed a previous post before last one so maybe lacking context here but that’s always been his style since he came here. We’ve qualified for the Champions League twice and won a cup after surviving relegation. With players not of the same calibre of that Liverpool team. im not saying we haven’t been shite this year because it’s been painful viewing pretty much all season but to say it hasn’t worked for us isn’t true. With some smart recruitment with even a 50% better success rate from last summer and I don’t see why we couldn’t be up there again.

Again on more weird narratives but Tonali was at the Freeman (I saw him) with someone from the club’s medical team a few days before the Sunderland game. He hasn’t just pulled out because he didn’t fancy it. Whether he’s been deemed for enough a week later to play for Italy from that scan is irrelevant.

Not shocked he wants to be away given fan reaction to him. I think we should be keeping him but understand one of our major players will have to leave if we’re going to reinvest. From what I’ve read I think Gordon sees himself as a striker now too where I personally think he should have been nailing down that LW spot. A bit like how Rashford never made one position his own. I don’t think we should replace Howe at all and I’m also a bit of a Mou fan but surprised so many people share this opinion. He’s arguably one of the top 3-5 managers of all time. Disagree personally. We were solid. Ba and Cisse were lethal and Cabaye was quality but we were pragmatic and solid enough. We still took some hammerings. We punched above ourselves all season. This is honestly one of the worst takes I’ve read in this whole Howe debate. There is no comparison to the Howe situation and what Pardew inflicted on us for years. I don’t believe anyone that attended games during that period would even bring it up. It was fucking diabolical. He was carried by Ba and Cisse in that 5th year we were mostly shit that season too. For all Howe has been poor this year we’re not getting pumped every couple of weeks by 3 goals plus.

We beat Man U and Chelsea back to back a few weeks back. Not really interested in going tit-for-tat though. I largely agree that this season has felt like a repeated kick to the knackers and some of it is Howe’s fault. My point is stop being a massive fanny (not specifically you but more so the fan base) take the shit season on the chin and back the guy for another window to see if he can sort it out because by Christ he deserves it.

Arguably not as the first really bad run he’s had people are wanting him sacked. For me, what he’s achieved, he deserves the summer and a period of reflection to sort it. If we’re turning up the same issues last year then there isn’t a person that could deny it’s time .

I do wish as a fan base we could just take this shit season on the chin and not collectively piss the bed over it. For me Howe deserves more time and another window (hopefully the board improve on what was signed last season). Some of the shit that’s been said about Howe has been pathetic. We start next season and after a window and 10 games or so if we’re still exactly the same then there’s no reason not to replace. I see your point about more dross though. Still for me he deserves a transfer window and a start of next season. I didn’t catch any of the match today but but not surprised to read it was pretty much more of the same. The lineup didn’t scream changes and it worries me for Howe. Mostly hoping it doesn’t turn toxic towards him because he deserves better even if results and performances have been shite.

I like the back 4. Would have had Ramsay in. Front 3 is fucking stupid and I hope it’s Osula up front instead of Gordon. No doubts he’ll bring Murphy off about the time he puts Wolt on as well.
