I sort of wish he’d left earlier. I think Ronaldo edges it in terms of who is the GOAT as he’s done it across leagues instead of one entire club philosophy built around him. I can’t see him choosing England with the pace of the league unless Pep could convince him? It’s going to be PSG isn’t it?

Not a huge amount of info here but Mark Douglas is/has been doing a live Q&A on the Chronicle's twitter page. I've asked this question: This was the response: Not a ton to go off but I'm guessing journalists have been told from the consortium there's still ongoing talks. I want to cling onto that like there could be hope still but it seems like the longest of long shots now. Info from that consortium has hardly been on point so far either has it.

As I said - Amanda has Alex's phone number - if she wants to contact NUST she knows where we are but it is not the job of NUST or Alex to go chasing Amanda Staveley. With respect, if it isn’t the job of the NUST to look for answers for the fan base overall when no one else seems to be then who’s is it? I think you’ve done wonderful work so far, especially the way you’ve got it to a position where you’ve got a seat with Masters. We’ve kind of only got half of the story unless there’s something going on you can’t say then fair enough.

I’m more concerned that journalists bought into this and reported it as news (same with the Mauris bid) when it was obvious to pretty much everyone at a glance that it was completely bollocks.

I’m satisfied we won’t get the answers or reasons why the deal collapsed watching this. I don’t get the impression the NUST are going to pursue Staveley for answers following the Premier League meeting and it sounds like they’re accepting the Premier League’s point of view on what happened. They seem to have a bit of finality in what they’re saying. I get they’re only volunteers, both Greg from on here and Thomas have done themselves proud but it was repeatedly mentioned it’s over to the billionaires etc. Seems like an end point. FWIW I think the trust going from strength to strength and only be of benefit for us as a fan base in the future.

Is anyone else watching this? The takeaway so far is Thomas got the impression Masters was being genuine. He believes they were unsure who would be actually running the club. Fair enough. They’ve then dodged or straight batted a question on whether they’ve spoken or will speak to Staveley. I think the response was “Alex isn’t here and she has his number” and they had “nothing to add on that” Am I being a bit harsh or is that a bit shit? Unless they know more and can’t let on yet because otherwise that’s a bit shit.
