Don’t know how viable it is long term or if it’s the equivalent of chucking a cb in the left back position but wonder if it’s worth starting Gordon and Barnes in the wide positions and getting them to switch throughout the game. Given how much better we looked and you’ve got to pick your best players.

Given the way our window has gone so far combined with some very uninspiring performances in favourable fixtures I’m not expecting a ton this season from what we’ve seen so far.

Found that interesting too as I don’t think he says anything without prior thought. Given his direct influence in the process post-takeover I wonder if the power shift isn’t exactly to his liking now. Or he could just be deflecting like he did with the Barnes transfer.

Odd if true. He’s inferior to Gordon in every capacity. Can’t play RW. What did he expect? It was an odd signing from us really. I still don’t really see much logic to it unless they were banking on Europe for rotation.

Fairly certain I’ve seen it mentioned already in this thread but if we sell Trippier I new RW is an absolute must to fill the creativity void on that side.

Uhhh!! I’ll be genuinely gutted if he goes. He’s basically that transformative signing that took us to the next level. He really grabbed us by the balls and forced us to be better as captain. Given his assist numbers when he still plays we’d be mad to let him go unless there was a solid fee. Unless he really wants to be away.

Given the clamour on here for Hall most of last season the fact so many want him dropped in favour of Kelly after one dodgy performance seems odd. I personally think we should stick with him because he’s clearly got something. I know Kelly has played left back often but I had enough of shoving cbs to full back positions last season. Howe will nailed on do this mind.
