Don’t get the criticism I think we’ve played well since going behind. I don’t think we’ve got anyone sat on the bench that you could bank on changing the game. Saka needs to be braver. He seems to play it safe to often when he’s got a full back isolated.

It’s a strange feeling going into this game tonight. In the Euros I really felt like it was going to be our time. Even from the early games I thought we’d win it. I haven’t been massively convinced by any of our performances despite the good results this time around. I don’t think any of the teams look unbeatable left in the competition either but I still think we’re a bit short of most them. Massive England win tonight then.

Found the shift in narrative around him quite surprising to a certain extent considering he had a good season last year. Since that self-inflicted wound of his Man U exit and the Morgan interview everyone has been desperate for him to fail. He’s 38 and still contributing at the top level. For the record I think he’s a bellend. I just found it quite fascinating how the tide can turn on people stemming from social media.

For me Foden seems to do a lot of the good work managers like Bruce wouldn’t recognise and would find himself on the bench. I think it’s part of reason he hasn’t had too much media recognition too.

I don’t think the French are unbeatable but Mbappe is hitting the type of form and scoring the type of goals that the top 1% of players reach. We’ve got to play to our strengths and the game changed for us when we stopped trying to pass it out from the back with players like Maguire. Unlike Dixon who was droning on like a dinosaur in commentary I’d prefer if we were that type of side but we haven’t got the personnel for it.

If Phillips is match fit I prefer him to Rice. Much sharper with his passing and it stops the game grinding to a halt so often in the middle of the pitch.

Hear me out. Sell Miggy for a ridiculous fee while his stock is so high, he’s unlikely to keep this up. Replace him with Pulisic and play him in the RW position. Isak, Wilson, Pulisic as a front three. Win the league.

I hadn’t really noticed Tyler Adams before and read he he joined Leeds but he looked like a proper shithouse last night I like him.

Reading loads of stuff on twitter saying Trent should have played. Trent marking Pulisic instead of Trippier and we lose that game. There was absolutely nothing happening up front so he’d have no one to pass to while having to keep Puslic quiet. No chance.

I don’t think Southgate is the greatest coach we’ve had but he’s taking more flack than he deserves after that game. We’ve played far better with much more desire and intensity than we did last night under him and some of those players need to look at themselves if they can’t get motivated to play in a World Cup game. We got out worked and outfought by the US. Kane and Sterling in particular had that look of a pro at the end of their career just plodding about at international level living off reputation. Throw in Saka and Bellingham having poor games and Rice going backwards so often the entire team was completely toothless. Southgate should have changed it sooner. The reluctance to sub Kane when him plodding around in the 10 position without anyone making a real attempt to get behind him was painful. The Foden thing is just bizarre.

Don’t think USA were good like the commentators were making out. We were just awfully dull. There needs to be real questions over the game plan and wtf it was meant to be. Every time I see Pulisic I’m gutted we didn’t sign him as he looks like a Howe player.
