Just finished the podcast. It was really fascinating in parts, you can tell the Bournemouth relegation still haunts him a little and unlike other managers he seems to take responsibility for it. There wasn’t too many specifics about us in there but some of it was telling. Particularly the parts about how willing the players were to be coached and improve. I think we all thought we had a better squad than Bruce had the media repeating. Was good to hear Jacob Murphy was a fan of the podcast he seems like a player that’s worked hard to save his career in the Premier League by working on himself rather than letting it fizzle out like some players do. Slight negative Howe mentioned a book similar to the secret. All that stuff is utter tosh.

Honestly think Brazil are mental taking all those forward players and wingers while not taking Joelinton. Especially considering Fred is in the squad.

What’s the point in telling people you’re having a massive squad only to then not tell people who’s in it? They might as well have just kept it quiet until the official squad.

Considered taking him out for Mitro for weeks but bottled it expecting him to turn it around.

I think he’ll go with Kane, Abraham and Rashford. I know Wilson has been in the squad before but I think he’ll go with his more tried and tested players. I’d be surprised if any player not involved in the fold is taken to the WC. For him to even have a chance I think he’s got to do the same to Southampton and maybe even Chelsea to give him a shot. I also agree with point that Burn missing out is a bigger tragedy than if Wilson misses out. Burn is miles better than some of the centre backs that seem to get minutes for England.

Another reminder that Bruce played everyone that resembled a defender plus Hayden at centre back over this guy.

I like how he’s embraced his dependence on one foot in a similar way Robben did. Everyone knows he’s going to cut in and shoot and it’s working out real well for him.

Nailed it. He’s a fantastic manger and still underrated. We were bottom of the league while he was in Europe and arguably pushing for the title. I was gutted when it fell through but as you said it worked in our favour. I don’t think there’s a manager in world football that could have got a single extra point and changed the culture of the entire club like Howe has.

I dunno man I know not everyone is the same but my wife had a fairly long labour and I was absolutely exhausted from it all. I’m sure millions of women would despise this comment but it’s a shock to the system to say the least. To expect him to perform to a good level after something like that seems a push to me.

Being boring here but the whole Grealish/Almiron stuff needs to end. Saw another mention of it this morning on twitter and it’s done now. Adding to the comments about him but Gordon is never a £30m plus player. He’s all attitude and diving and very little else. Everton should cash in rather than giving him the 100k that he’s after.

Seeing the clip of the Wilson penalty claim again on twitter this morning and I’m not sure how VAR can look at that and not give a pen. It looks a pretty straight forward decision. For balance I think Longstaff was lucky not to have that one given again him too. You swing your foot in the box like that and don’t touch the ball then you’re asking for it.

Pleased Martial isn’t playing too. Our lineup is much stronger than the ITKs had me flapping over. Massive step up and a massive test to see where we are this season.
