Might be biased maybe but you can tell Trippier is used to the higher pace of Howe’s system. Always looking to play the ball forward and quickly.

Just read the Saka over Foden news. I can’t get my head around why it’s a debate as they play very different roles. I was really hoping he’d try and build a midfield around Foden, Bellingham, Saka but obviously not.

Explains why he wasn’t selected if this was hanging over him. I also wonder if it had something to do with him making the squad last time but not getting any game time over two friendlies.

I feel like we might actually win this and we’ll all collectively shit ourselves at the realisation we might actually be in with a chance of top 4. On a serious note this is a massive test. Chelsea will know what a loss will mean for them and we’re not surprising anyone anymore. It’s test to see if this squad belongs at this level. 2-0 Wilson and Miggy.

As long as Saka, Bellingham and Foden all start I’ll be relatively happy. They’re genuine future world class players and we need to build a team around them.

Some really odd selections there. Dier, Coady, Maguire at cb over Tomori is insane to me. Even Guehi who’s been consistent all season. No one behind Shaw - which is why I genuinely believe Burn should have gone especially when you consider the standard of the non-playing cbs. Phillips is bizarre. Even Gallagher to a certain extent. Forwards were as expected. I disagree with the selection but sort of respect Southgate for doing it his way, albeit predictable and dull. It’s likely his last tournament unless he gets close to winning it so he may as well go out on his shield.

I get Rashford. Kane is our main striker and he drops deep to create space so the wide players need to run in behind. Apart from Sterling and Saka we don’t have a lot of that type of player so Rashford has to go in my opinion.

Just read Tomori hasn’t been picked. It seems absolute madness given his experience with Milan and the fact our cbs are either shit or out of form. We have Stones and that’s about it.

A few changes but enough regulars to keep the standard hopefully. 2-0 win to us. Wood and ASM.
