It makes me laugh when people still talk about size and its relevance to the premier league. Size got nothing do with it. When midgets like Gianfranco Zola and Claude Makelele have flourished in this league and arguably when it was even more physical back then compared to the whistle blow happy refs we got today. Apart from decent skills, Aggression and the hunger to fight in games is what players need at least to survive in this league. Not size.

Pardew just confirmed the boy wont be involved tomorrow.

most of the players are the same as last season, we are playing the same as last season, mostly direct stuff. only difference is the oppositions have wised up to our game. Difference is last season or beginning of season anyway. We had a settled defence, Raylor had good delivery from wide area and set pieces, Jonas and Obertan outwide and Best and Ba upfront. Ok it wasn't very technical but it was very direct and it worked this is a different team. With Santon, Cisse, Ben Arfa coming in, this team does not suit direct football and is more of a possession team with some direct entities mixed in. Well it should be anyway but we are playing like we still have Best upfront for Ba to feed on etc etc. We need to be changing the style to adapt to players we have it's obvious what worked with those players do not work with these. errr really? don't you remember people moaning about our dire set plays and crosses, you mentioned jonas, obertan, raylor lol, these players were not exactly known for their cutting edge long passes and crosses. yeh raylor can take a good direct freekick. and then there's simpson a rock in our defence but we all knew when he runs past the halfway line he turns into a turd and cant cross to save his life. we have the same limitation last season as we do now. regardless who starts.

We've played two full games with both our central midfielders & half our defence has been out. Its not mostly the same as last season. our style of play is the same.

thought he made the right decision starting shola and ba. shola is the only striker we got that can actually hold the ball up to a certain degree. when we had leon best he could make the ball stick and invited tackles , hence his injury record. AC did it for us as well. shola played very well before he was sacrificed. was not impressed with Ba's overall play, but holding the ball up is not really his game. I wasn't that impressed with Pardew's fist towards our fans after the final whistle, almost making out like we won something.

not surprising when you employ successions of inadequate turds such as souness, roeder, jfk and fat sam.

what does pardew mean by this? “It’s the same at West Ham,” added Pardew. “Sam Allardyce is coming under the same criticism he had here because there is a style element to these clubs.” we're playing similar football to fat sam's style at west ham and getting stick from fans, no? He means Allardyce is getting stick at West Ham, like he did here, for being fat charlatan c***. lol ok thanks mate. i think your right, i did read it wrong there.

its a political speech by pardew, completely opened to interpretations
-
oh i thought he meant, he is also getting stick for his style of football at newcastle and going against newcastle's traditions of football. Just like west ham and fat sam. no?

recent interview im not sure what to make of this, is he comparing himself to Fat Sam and his style of football, im not sure if we should be worried or not. “I’m from a council estate, and I’m a working class person – I understand what they want,” Pardew told the Gazette. “I understand that they want not just a winning team, but a team to play the right manner. I don’t want to ignore that.” Pardew sees similarities between Newcastle and his former club West Ham United, where Sam Allardyce – who had an uncomfortable time at St James’s Park – is facing the same kind of criticism he had on Tyneside given the club’s own footballing traditions. “It’s the same at West Ham,” added Pardew. “Sam Allardyce is coming under the same criticism he had here because there is a style element to these clubs.” Pardew guided West Ham to a FA Cup final, and his time in East London helped prepare him for the biggest job of his career. “Definitely, my experience at West Ham has helped me with this club, more so than every other club I’ve been at,” he said. “Although there are less West Ham fans in terms of volume, the passion’s very similar. http://www.peterleestar.co.uk/sport/football/round-up/my-working-class-roots-define-my-football-philosophy-pardew-1-5038536

Not saying this as any disrespect, Can we say with injuries to Vuckic and Gosling, will mean it may push the boy Mehdi further up the squad. perhaps the only bit of positivity out of this ordeal? -

now you know why he shirks out of every single challenge, he knows he will get hurt. Think he's a lost cause, sadly. -

honestly lads how different do you really think we would had played had we started in 4-3-3/4-5-1 didn't we try that vs Everton and got our asses handed to us in the first half. -
true but i think some teams have caught on to our tactics.

pardew's situation is, it is not that he is not capable of getting a team to pass the ball and play football. what it all comes down to is his preference. he prefers his team to play direct football with 2 out and out strikers/forwards. even when we start 4-5-1 / 4-3-3 he most often enough just shoe-horn a striker out wide or on the wings. Best, Shola , Cisse, Ba, all had been put out there. even when he has a big enough list of players other than HBA to take the other wide role. having two forwards allows him to revert straight back to 4-4-2 without the need of wasting a sub. it's how he sees fit to tackle the premiership. rightly or wrongly that is what he prefers until/if he changes.

as much as i like 4-3-3 / 4-5-1 you just know pardew is going to shoe-horn one of our strikers out wide, either be Ba, Cisse, or Shola then it just beats whole purpose of us playing 4-3-3 / 4-5-1
