Looked unintentional tbh, and he did immediately apologize iirc

McClean looks a great player, more MON too than Sessegnon, all pace. Vaughn is capable of great stuff too imo. Larrsson is a bit of a one trick pony too but it's a good trick. It's amazing what Bruce's mismanagement of that team did to them, they're now fast which is most worring, and probably will be pumped up for it this time.

his cross for the goal was great, until then wasn't sure if he'd had that good a game to be honest

its nice to have a squad that one can cycle round depending on form and tactics, sick of feeling we are always one injury away from disaster. Sadly our cup failures mean once cabaye and tiote are back opportunities may be limited. i'd like to see cabaye pushed forward ahead of guthrie and tiote once as a central playmaker.
-
Really glad for him, perfect to have his mate Ba by his side and takes some pressure off him to start scoring immediately with someone so prolific next to him, but doesn't look like that'll be an issue, an absolutely amazing strike.
-
Glad he's getting a run of 90 mins together too, was a bit worried about his injury record
-
i magine they've been told to get closer to the ball to try and make less mistakes
-
Is that an awakening Dirk Kuyt?? Blimey Joe Kinnear looks a little worse for wear

Just being given the money anyway and not through contract is the most obvious tax dodge. It's like a company claiming they've got someone as an apprentice or something then giving full wages in cash wink wink nudge nudge. Genuine level of idiocy in thinking that's a legitimate excuse to give a court since that's confirming that was what the money was for, at least claim it was a coincidence!

busquets suffered a horror injury sounds like, eep

also that free kick against man u

shearer there endorsing diving

I like that but I do worry about going too narrow, worth trying on occaision, and good for possession footy but may struggle to break down determined defence
-
McCleish is a manager who considers central midfields to be functional, without invention, something to pack purely to be defensive. Wouldn't concern about them hoarding possession, but worry about then sitting back grabbing ball and hitting on break.
-
Still get the feeling with Cabaye he's slightly tethered too frequently when not alongside Tiote needs to do more defensive duty, which he diligently does, but also gets wound up. Tiote Cabaye and Guthrie in a midfield would be great. Guthrie impresses recently but can't quite maintain his standards all game like Cabaye does

Silly silly silly red card
-
Play a deeper defence with Guthrie and Perch covering in front of the defence, then fill the front half with pace, with Ba in the team we can bet the house our finishing will be better than theirs, can't afford to try and play to high up and try and be too clever in midfield, theirs is alright, ours depleted. Why are we talking about villa here? Oops

Looked like Walcott had his token good game of the year

Martin O Neil has done fantastic with them. If we don't get better I am worried about the derby.
-
Looked like he fell over more than deliberately dived, very dubious on it being a penalty. Still Man City look the better team.
-
If Ba returns on form I can see this being a high scorer as Villa are likely to get goals as well and hopefully we'll play a little better.
-
Yeah not sure but it was either that or HBA central and obertan on the wing.
-
He shouldn't be in the team based purely on his form of late imo
