Me too, mind you if it comes August 31st and we still haven't bought anyone i might think different. But for now it's hilarious.

West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll

I have mentioned Dembele and Guidetti. It's a tough thing to suggest mainly because a lot of wide-forwards are already at CL clubs and starting for them. Would love Dembele here. Not sure just for the following either: Demba Ba Demba Cisse Dembele Never noticed that before, the main reason i suggested him is because of his versatility of being able to play outwide, upfront and in midfield. As well as having a year left on his contract, if we are willing to spend 12m on a player i'd like it to be on someone like him. -

Free role....David Silva style.......not that Pards would go for it, imo. City's system is a 4-2-2-2 with fullbacks pushing on with Nasri and Silva floating. with the signing of Debuchy and Anita we could pull this off tbh. Have Anita and Tiote in the holding roles and Cabaye and Ben Arfa in the Nasri and Silva roles. Pards wouldn't do it, but it's something with those signings would allow us to do, which we couldn't before with Simpson and Raylor as fullbacks. -

Tbh the more i think about it if we are looking for a 3rd choice striker, he might have to be a CF and not someone to play wide. If we rotate Ba with anyone we might as well rotate him with a winger and if both Ba and Cisse go to AFCON we have no CF. So it might make sense just to buy a 3rd choice CF to rotate with Cisse and have Ba rotating with the likes of Marveaux. The problem arises because we need someone good enough to come in and the drop off in quality to not be too big and willing to accept some bench time. I could name a few people but i'm unsure how many would accept periods on the bench. -
Yeah i feel like we are going to sign Carroll as well.
-
Rotation, i personally believe if we get the players mooted. I don't see us having a fixed line up, Jonas will play loads, as will Anita if he signs or anyone else. Especially in the midfield area where with Anita's signing we would have a great deal of depth i think we will see lot's rotation. Even if Jonas doesn't start every game i don't see his importance to be any less than last year, just the better we do the more matches we play and the more rotation there is likely to be. Also have to consider Injuries, suspensions which will blatantly come up, also you wont see people like Ba out on his feet come the end of the season like last season.
-
He'll replace Jonas in the line up if we're going 4-3-3. I was talking about the fact Pardew said we will only sign 3 players. If we sign Anita and that is true, then that means either a RB, CB or CF wont come. Not saying I think we'll bring in 4 or more players at this point, but Pardew casually saying we'll sign 3 players in the media doesn't convince me. Agreed.

Cabaye the Mosquito

So if we do get him, what position will we neglect? or is Pards taking out of his arse to the media again ?

^^^^ As does Carroll tbh. Carroll isn't worth 15m in anyone's fantasy, especially as a 3rd choice striker and Hoilett provides more than Carroll does. Neither fill me with excitement tbh, but Carroll for 15m or Hoilett for 5m i'd choose Hoilett everyday. Carroll for 15m is insanity.
-
Hoilett all day long, in that scenario.

Dembele is the one i'd go after tbh, can play wide, upfront or in the middle and only got a year left on his contract. -

As said a few pages back, the common misconception with Carroll is get the best out of him you must hoof it up to him and hope he bulldozes defenders like Drogba he isnt that type at all. When he was here we mixed up short passing with very direct play and lot's of crosses but we didn't hoof it up to him and that got the best out of him. I have concerns with Carroll coming back, but it's not because of effecting style of play. It's more to do with wages, effecting the dressing room, price and willingness to accept a bench role. But the style of play or fear of hoofball doesn't concern me. -
Gaël Bigirimana rejoins Coventry on a permanent basis

Only seen him a couple of times in pre-season. He looks like a good header of the ball, likes to spray it out wide, not physical but energetic and composed. Possibly the next Guy Ipoua. Early days yet though and I am loathe to draw wild conclusions. Catts for me like. -
11 or 12 was our final offer depending on what source you read. I'm a massive skeptic, but i'm certain Mclaren is just being a c*nt
-
Spurs have supposedly taken him on trial as well.
-
I knew McLaren was being a c*nt, typical.

All the attacks we based around him, every time we got the ball we looked for Carroll, every time we got into attacking thirds we looked for Carroll. The whole the way of playing was built around Carroll, maybe not in the Championship but in the Premier League it certainly was. If we signed him this time, he would be an alternative to our current team and he wont give the performances he gave before because the team wont be built around him.
