No more Andy Townsend though

I'll admit i had given up on him tbh, but since the Cardiff game i don't think he's done that much wrong at all. Still, i've noticed him hanging on to the ball a bit too long at times in dangerous areas, but far less than he was before. An improvement.

Why does the level you play at matter? It will probably sound a bit soft but it gets a lot more physical as you drop down, which doesn't really suit my style of play and i don't think the refs offer enough protection.

Was the setup any good? Well i hope i don't come across as bitter but not really. It's probably improved quite a bit since then though, i would imagine. Although not many players have came through since i left. When people ask me which academy they should take there son to, i usually say Middlesbrough out of the big 3 in the North East.

If you look at it through Pardew's ultra negative glasses, his reasoning for starting shola probably has something to do with mighty West Ham's 'Fret' from set pieces more than his contribution (or lack of one) in attack. We can't really expect to win against the great West Ham at home, we have to be on our guard and stay in the game etc.

Pisses me off that we always sell the player before we buy the replacement. Teams will obviously know we have money now so it's gonna be much harder to do a deal in the fat man's price range.
