  1. Krul Simpson - Perch - Colo - Santon Tiote Anita - Marveaux HBA(?) - Cisse - Ba
  2. I'm no Simpson fan, but I really think he is the least of our problems right now.

    Papiss Cissé

He seems to have lost his central place to Ba through a combination of poor performances in an awful system that he wasn't at all suited to, and the club's remarkable willingness to adhere to Ba's wishes through fear of losing him. He's a lethal poacher, and he's more reliant on a system than Ba, but through months of Pardew abuse he's found himself on the wing(!) and bereft of confidence - it's painful to watch. But I'm absolutely certain he'd be better central in a 3, and it's got to the stage where I'd be relatively happy to see Ba sold in order to begin using him correctly, which I ultimately believe would be better for the team.
  4. Far more important that we buy a winger over Sissoko or even Debuchy.

Aguero - Tevez weren't a front 2, and Benteke - Weimann are significantly different from each other - Ba and Cisse aren't.

He was alright today, but our current use of him is appalling.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

  8. Beardsley was at a talk tonight, apparently. Few bits of interest: Paul Reece ‏@PaulReece10 Beardsley talk-in, Pedro revealed he would like the club to sign PSG striker Kevin Gamiero and revealed United offered £17m for Carrol #nufc Paul Reece ‏@PaulReece10 Pedro also says he doesn't expect United to sell anybody in January and thinks #nufc could sign 2 players in January at over £5million each. Paul Reece ‏@PaulReece10 Beardsley also revealed that Graham Carr is currently looking at January targets in France and that Pards was in Lille last week scouting.

    Alan Pardew

http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/Smileys/Newcastle-Online/dowie.png The fact that only last month he suggested statistics were misleading aside, it is quite concerning that he seems to have such a simplistic view of attacking play, and thinks that more crosses = more goals. How would you quantify chances or getting in positions to potentially create chances then, if asked? That's not the question he was asked. That's not an answer to my question. Why are you asking that question?

Question in his presser: http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/Smileys/Newcastle-Online/dowie.png The fact that only last month he suggested statistics were misleading aside, it is quite concerning that he seems to have such a simplistic view of attacking play, and thinks that more crosses = more goals.
  12. But Tiote’s not just out of form, and it’s not specific to this season, either – his game has fundamentally changed. No longer does he drop in between the midfield and defensive lines, effectively using his natural athleticism to press the opposition with a controlled level of aggression, keeping his distribution relatively simple and to more naturally creative players. The Tiote we saw in his debut at Everton has gone. And somebody clearly thought it was a brilliant idea – and possible – to turn him into a more complete midfielder. This was stupidty.
  13. I do find it remarkable that we've only used a front 3 of Ben Arfa - Cisse - Ba once this season (second half vs Spurs) given how it well it worked in that match and previously. Not that I think doing that will solve all of our problems, but it's certainly our best setup.
  14. I think QPR are gone. They'll have to finish the season like a top 8 side, which isn't going to happen.
  15. I'm not so sure Ben Arfa can play in the number 10 role that so many people advocate. Happy to be proven totally wrong, of course.

Didn't Pardew say they'd definitely stay up? (Reading that is)
  17. He played a part in both goals, other than that he was one of our better players. I think you need to rethink what you typed. Schoolboys wouldn't make the mistakes he made last night. Since the Liverpool game where he spent his time on the pitch trying 'to do' Suarez instead of concentrating on what he's paid to do he's been utter s***. Colo the Clown is well and truly back.

    Papiss Cissé

I'm still convinced he's better than Ba, and we would be better off building our attack around him.
  19. No chance he'll play Marveaux. It'll probably be: Krul Simpson - Perch - Colo - Santon Ben Arfa - Anita - Tiote - Jonas Ba - Cisse/Shola
