  1. Completely random - but not sure if anyone's seen that the final will be on 1st June 2024 at Wembley Stadium, not a million miles to travel if we got to the final.
  2. Just seen that forest will make the deal permanent when the transfer window opens (source bbc sport - forest to release lingard and 5 others). https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65789316 "Serge Aurier has triggered an automatic one-year extension on his deal, while the club have confirmed striker Chris Wood's loan from Newcastle United will become a permanent transfer when the window re-opens."
  3. Looking at that then we're not going to know the final pots standings until the morning of the 31st August. But can someone explain why - All of pot 2 have a higher rating than most of pot 1 ? Why are the manure in pot 2 not 3 as they finished 3rd ? And if someone says ratings then why aren't all of the highest rated in pot 1, the pot 2 etc ?
  4. For the last time this season - here are my predictions - a big thank you to those who organised it - and roll on next season - Gameweek 38 Arsenal 3-0 Wolves Villa 1-2 Brighton Brentford 1-3 Man City Chelsea 0-2 Newcastle Palace 2-0 Forest Everton 1-1 Bournemouth Leeds 2-0 Spurs Leicester 1-0 West Ham Man United 2-0 Fulham Southampton 1-3 Liverpool
  5. Pts / GD Eve 33 -24 Lei 31 -18 Lee 31 -27 If Everton win - the others down - no matter the results. If Everton lose or draw, then Leicester only have to win - goal difference in their favour. - wouldn't matter what Leeds did (hypothetically - if Leeds won by 11 more goals than Leicester scored then Leeds would stay up). Leeds on the other hand is a different - so Everton lose 1-0, then Leeds need to win by 3 clear goals to be certain - or 2 and their goals scored (74) is better than Eve (57). If Everton lose by more then Leeds have to win by less. And then Leicester would have to draw or lose as well. I'd prefer Everton to stay up this season, and next - so we get a visit to their new ground in 24/25 season. Coral odds are - to stay up - Everton - 2/9, Lei - 4/1 and Leeds 10/1.
  6. I'm in 6th place, 22 pts behind you two, but on for 23 minimum, 28 maximum this week - so caught up a slight bit - but not enough to get into 5th place - unless I have a magic final week (60 points should do it - LOL) BUT, if at the start of the season, like Newcastle, you'd say to me - would you like to finish in the top 6 - then I'd have bitten your hand off to finish there - so all in all - am very pleased for my final position - even with a week to go. Also pleased as well to get a top weekly score - would be interesting to see the stats on who had the most - a small mini table to show.
  7. I've gone for Murphy, as he always seems to give 100%, he's not a household name - but deserves credit for persistence and if there were a stat for the number of times someone had hit the post/bar - i'm sure he'd not be far of the top spot. Hope he remains with us - as not certain what Howe will do to the squad - but here's to him - get's my vote.

  18. So to start with - Didn't go, Didn't watch it live on tv, only seen hightlights and some posting on youtube. But with regard to the post about the Nottingham game and others - there are several differences - 1. The forest game is one of many - so there isn't, what i call "the fear of losing" which is what there was on Sunday. 2. At most games everyone is in the position they want to be - but on Sunday because of the ticket arrangements and numbers i get the feeling there wasn't enough of the right type of people to get an atmosphere going.
  19. I don't think it's a place to be 'bragging' on what score you've got, i mean some of us will have a s/sheet or whatever so we can see what score we've got before Magpie posts the table, and this week I think i've got 28. But then this will only mean that Disco / Magpie and co will start pasting in their 30, 32, 35 scores and put us all to shame, as though it's not bad enough thinking i've done well then you see the table and they've moved further ahead. doh (bangs head repeatedly against brick wall).
  20. Apologies to all on this thread, I wasn't aware that there had already been a get together and this was a follow up, I was just reading the tread as a 'thought' post to see what the 'reaction' would be, and was joking that effort had been done with no knowledge that there would be any takers. If a game can be chosen then am least up for coming up for that and a possible stay over - work commitments allowing time off.
  21. Have to laugh - what if no one had said 'Yeah - i'm up for this', that seems a lot of work done for no reason - LOL - luckily you have some takers for the idea.
  22. Sorry, but I'm going to be a kill joy here (not that I want to be one as I'd love to attend one way or another) but whoever is trying to organise this 'event' then you need to take into account the 'TV football' packages - this years link below - before 'finalising' on any booking etc. https://www.premierleague.com/news/2647056 As there is no point in getting the fixture list in the middle of June or whenever it is - only to book some hotel / events for a Saturday / Sunday - only to find the match has then been moved to a Monday night. Then the shitter is that as you have then waited for the TV dates, all of the hotels in the area will then know, and thus they then increase their prices accordingly (BASTARDS THE LOT OF THEM). I know it's not relevant, but the British GP is on the 9th July - a local Premier Inn prices from that week go something like M - 100, T - 110, W- 120, TH - 150, Fri - 170, Sat's booked out, Sunday - £39 - LIKE WHAT THE FUCK - it's still the same room. How can it then be over £100 less.

  24. I've been waiting to post this - but have waited until the cup game was over - so here goes. After last years shite start to the season, then with Howe coming in, doing wonders and getting us to a finishing position of 11th this years 'initial' thread was the "relegation-o-meter" and we all put in our 'predictions'. Not for one minute would I except from anyone that they would predict us to be top 4 by Christmas. Now there were a series of factors that have helped our position - Liverpool and Chelsea not performing, so Manure can be said to have done that for the first half of the season, and then put together with other teams all being of the same calibre - Brighton, Fulham, Spurs etc - all these teams were drawing against each other, whilst we happen to be winning more, which has lead us to the position over Christmas of being in the top 4. Wow - top 4 - then the thread 'changed' to 'Top-4-ometer', and the predictions have come in for that, and people are now thinking of what could be - but this position needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. It's not that I'm not liking, or not wanting to finish in the top 4, but personally, I think we'll finish in the top 10, at best a Europa league place - reasoning, as other have mentioned, lack of squad depth, players tired, other teams performing better. Now to some this might be a 'waste' and 'failure' but as other have said, it gives us something to build on, as getting into the champions league would, in my opinion, be a disaster, as with all the extra games, we'd finish 3rd or 4th. I see it, as an ongoing, evolving situation, play well, finish good league position, attract better players, repeat - and one day, hopefully some time soon - we will be a top 4 finisher - and deserve our place in whatever competition - and may those times last.
