Had two bets for tonight - 3-1 to Liverpool at 18/1 and 3-1 to Newcastle - 200/1. COME ON !!! every confidence. LOL. -
From the BBC - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/59679458 at 14:45- An increasing number of Premier League clubs want fixtures suspended until 2022 report ESPN. "Premier League chiefs have been informed that with rising case numbers being fuelled by the omicron variant, there would be support for suspending games until the weekend of 8-9 January, when FA Cup third-round ties are due to take place," they write. "Under the proposal, Premier League games would restart on 15 January. "Officially, the Premier League is still considering postponements on a case-by-case basis. The Premier League did not immediately respond to a request for comment when asked about plans for a shutdown by ESPN." and at 14:54- The Premier League has released a statement in relation to the postponement of Manchester United's match against Brighton on Saturday. It makes interesting reading considering a report earlier today (see 14:45 GMT) that clubs are pushing for a league-wide shutdown. "It is with regret that this is the fourth Premier League fixture to have been postponed in the past week," say the Premier League. "While recognising a number of clubs are experiencing COVID-19 outbreaks, it is the League’s intention to continue its current fixture schedule where safely possible. "Manchester United continues to have an ongoing COVID-19 outbreak within their squad, which has left them unable to field a team for the match at Old Trafford. "The Premier League Board assesses applications to postpone matches on a case-by-case basis, based on existing rules and COVID-19 postponement guidance issued to all clubs."

Just looking at their next set of fixtures, hmm, doesn't bode well for us tonight - I think Klippty Klopp will put out a very strong team - Sunday 19th December PREMIER LEAGUE Tottenham Hotspur16:30Liverpool Wednesday 22nd December EFL CUP Liverpool19:45Leicester City Sunday 26th December PREMIER LEAGUE Liverpool12:30Leeds United Tuesday 28th December PREMIER LEAGUE Leicester City20:00Liverpool So looking at those fixtures - spurs and leicester are rampaged by covid at present - so he'll put out his 3rd team for them, and put out the 4th team for the leeds game, and they'll all be 4-0 wins. As the first fixture in Jan is Chelsea away, when all first team members will be fully rested. -

The thing is that he can't play too much of a defensive line up for the simple fact that it would be like the first 10 games we've played this season - backs to the wall and trying to hit them on the break, issue here is that we'd lose the ball midfield, and with too many people going forward then we'd be open to a 'right fucking'. So he's got to balance the defensive side of things with the possibility of having some sort of attacking prospect in the line up as well. So for me, I'd go with a 3-5-1-1 sort of formation, Dubs Manq Schär Lascelles fraser or murphy Hayden Shelvey willock ritchie or Almiron Joelinton Wilson With Fraser, Shelvey and Ritchie being able to drop back 'if needed' - like all the time. Let's see what happens. Fancying 3-1 to them. -

I'd be the opposite, get it played, out of the way, what's the point of putting something off ? as we could only be playing them in a few months when - 1. They are better. 2. We are "not" so good. Ah - the proof reading skills need an update. -

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59594346 We're not on the tv. So Sat 8th at 15.00 I would assume. -
I'll just post this every time I've placed a bet on us to win 3-1. @ 40/1. One must come up sooner or later.
-
Also played for Crewe Alex for several seasons - recall he was a very physical player.

Listening to bbc radio, got a report of a duck on the pitch at Fleetwood. Bolton who they are playing, one of their supporters tweeted 'Can it play in midfield ?' And score us a quack trick. Seem Bolton are playing shite. Lmao.

Do anyone know when the TV side of things is going to be sorted out ? Hopefully the sooner the better as if this was on a Saturday then I might be tempted to go (fingers crossed). -
There was an interesting youtube post, which for some reason has now been deleted. Note - this may be due to the Matt Law Tweet, and the NUFC FANS youtube post. Anyway Tyneside Life points out that it for these prospective DOF's to point out or say 'present' their vision of how the club should move forward. From what I gathered in the post, what this Emalano fella said/did, didn't fit with what the club were looking for. For what I also gathered, this post is like, well it is, a job offer, so like with any interview, you have to 'sell yourself' to the offer and likewise you ask questions on what the job entails - if neither of the parties like what they are hearing then there is no offer. There's no point in picking someone who doesn't agree or understand your policies.

FA Cup 3rd Round Draw: Cambridge United (H)

The issue is that for the big 6, this cup isn't seen as being 'important' to them, so most probably put out their 2nd or 3rd 11's - so there is the potential for an upset or two. I could easily see Man City even putting out their 4th 11 - as all of these 'fringe' player need proper experience. -
Interestingly Lingard not even in the squad today. Things like this must have made him make his mind up to go as soon as.
-
If he'd toe poked it in then it would have stood as I see it, but cos he kicked up into Schmeichel hand must have been deemed a foul.
-
I don't care.
-
Seems sky are few mins delayed for the stream I'm seeing. Any how makes good viewing that Leicester defence is leaky.

Newcastle United vs. Burnley: 4/12/21 @ 15:00 (No UK TV)

You have to remember that Eddie's still learning about these players, he has to pick as he sees in training, but with the added knowledge of what he sees in real game play. Going on that Clark should never play again - unless really needed. The same could be said for others. But generally as I saw it (via Amazon) the back 4 should remain as is. Willock looked a bit a sea, then he got a talking to, and suddenly burst into life - perhaps this was the 'wake' up moment. Going forward, I'd have fraser in, wasn't his fault to be sub'd - you actually saw him say so as he was walking off - and he'll be fresh. Wilson up front, with Joe, ASM and Miggy. -
Interesting looking at their next set of games up until us (sorry about the editing - cut and paste from a website) - Monday 6th December Everton20:00Arsenal Sunday 12th December Crystal Palace16:30Everton Thursday 16th December Chelsea19:45Everton Sunday 19th December Everton12:00Leicester City Sunday 26th December Burnley15:00Everton Thursday 30th December Everton19:30Newcastle United On seeing how they are playing - they could be in the bottom quarter sooner than you think (here's hoping).

Sticking with my 3-1 Toon win. not sure of odds at present. -
I was looking at the games last night, and so far, the only team that seems 'Unbeatable' at present is Liverpool, this is going on snippets of the games, seeing one team doing a high press and the opposition then losing the ball. (VIL - CITY). Burnley only had 6 or so shots, and the first on target wasn't until the 75 or so minute - so am vaguely optimistic on our chances of staying up. Leicester only drawing, watford losing. Everton were poor. At the end of the day, it all lies with the defence, if we can get that sorted then we'll be fine as I don't think there are any issue going forward. Was a 0, last voted a 3.

If you were a manager, how would your team set up and play?
South-Cheshire-Toon replied to Rich's topic in Football
I haven't the technical ability to write down my thoughts as it's not easy to convey what you can see / think into words so in seeing this - it has hit the nail in the head for me. After seeing the game on tuesday, i thought the back '4' were great - esp. Lewis, so as we are still 'weak' at the back, it would properly be best to play 3 at the back with 2 'wing backs'. this will aid in defence, and also aid going forward.
