  1. Just thought you'd like to see (a very poor copy - wish there was a better way to paste into this forum) off my s/sheet I use to record the results. Shows games to go, dates and who, (note - doesn't show home or away - hence two Lei's for Everton as still yet to play them). 2. Sorry, but I think from the beeb's website there was a mis-quote - Printed - "I am coming in with one aim and that is to get Albion to the Premier League." Correction - "I am coming in with one aim and that is to get Albion to the League One."
  3. Wouldn't want to be in training this week - will be absolutely manic I would imagine.
  4. On another note - do you think they'll get a replacement in - in time for them to make any purchases, as if not, then they'll have to stick with the squad they have, which could benefit us in the long term.
  5. I was in the process of replying, and my tablet had a fit. But it may be better that we go down, and hopefully come straight back up, as at present we can't attract anyone as they don't want to be playing in a lower league.
  6. Wouldn't want them to draw nor win - keeps them in the right part of the table.
  7. He's the type of player, in not knowing any of the other as much as they know them (if you get what i mean) - could/would make a good captain - as he can come in and give people shit and let them know it. I think this is where lascelles is letting us down, it's like, "well he's my friend and i don't what to hurt his feelings" - Fuck that - they them their shite and to pull their fingers out - that's what you are being paid to do. But we'll see in the near future.
  8. It's now quite interesting to see who's posting what crazy ideas as to who we could now be looking at signing, as without a doubt, the management have targeted several players to fill specific rolls. But only the trippier one was a starter from the get go - ALL of the others are just hearsay - I'm waiting with baited breath to see what happens - My browser is on a constant 20 second refresh. And at this moment I couldn't even to think to state players we could be interested in - as we've never been in this position - having money to spend. The mind can only boggle at what the permutations of the players out there - with the budget we have - and it's only 6 days into a 31 day window. I think I'm going to need a lie-down.
  9. Just found an old link - https://metro.co.uk/2021/11/15/aaron-ramsey-wants-premier-league-return-but-400000-a-week-wages-are-stumbling-block-15603203/ Fuck that for a game of soliders. £40,000 yes, £400,000 - on yer bike son - find some other mug to sign you. Perhaps this is why so many european clubs are in the shite, paying way over the odds for some outdated players. Read that Umtiti at Barca, who they are trying to offload is on £210,000 a week - FFS.
  10. Aaron Ramsey - Whilst not being mentioned in dispatches - it is widely known that he wants away - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59885415 But in a previous webpage edition it quoted that he was on, get this. 390,000 £/euros a week - now the guy may be good - but I dont think there is a cat in hell's chance of us wanting him at that rate. Thoughts ?
  11. Just reading about Eriksen - Would it be worth a punt on him ? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59873198 As he doesn't currently have a club.
  12. I was just thinking the same thing. Here we are on only the 4th day of the window, and we're panicking that we've not signing anybody. In days gone by, we'd be panicking on the 24th day (and cursing the, then, previous mgmt and owners for being shite). It's early days, and yes, it would be nice to get one or two 'in the bag' but it's early days - (hopefully) - the signings will come.
  13. With all the talk since the take over, and with the transfer window upon us now is the time to see what the general concensus is.
  14. Shouldn't that be a upshift not a downgrade? But any how you are feeling better about things. For what it's worth I've never been below a 3, and still at that point now.
  15. A daft thought, IF the same 11 play, less ASM and Wilson, and bring in Gayle and Anderson - How would that sound ? ( waits a few minutes and hears howls of laughter emanating from the north east. )
  16. I think we've been walking around with rose tinted specs on at present by way of the europhoria of those initial training sessions, seeing everyone running around, getting fitter etc. The 'pie in the sky' thinking was that this would be immediately brought to the pitch, now whilst not there yet, there has been a massive improvement with the standards of the team as a whole, but as reported, it will be those little individual errors that let us down. Come the new year, and with several player joining us of a better quality and calibre then I can see the whole team performance improving. Looking at the fixtures, Everton onwards for 5 or 6 games will be the decisive time of the season. Forever hopeful that we can pull it out of the bag.
  17. Am surprised shelvey or joelinton aren't captain.
  18. Had two bets for tonight - 3-1 to Liverpool at 18/1 and 3-1 to Newcastle - 200/1. COME ON !!! every confidence. LOL.
  19. From the BBC - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/59679458 at 14:45- An increasing number of Premier League clubs want fixtures suspended until 2022 report ESPN. "Premier League chiefs have been informed that with rising case numbers being fuelled by the omicron variant, there would be support for suspending games until the weekend of 8-9 January, when FA Cup third-round ties are due to take place," they write. "Under the proposal, Premier League games would restart on 15 January. "Officially, the Premier League is still considering postponements on a case-by-case basis. The Premier League did not immediately respond to a request for comment when asked about plans for a shutdown by ESPN." and at 14:54- The Premier League has released a statement in relation to the postponement of Manchester United's match against Brighton on Saturday. It makes interesting reading considering a report earlier today (see 14:45 GMT) that clubs are pushing for a league-wide shutdown. "It is with regret that this is the fourth Premier League fixture to have been postponed in the past week," say the Premier League. "While recognising a number of clubs are experiencing COVID-19 outbreaks, it is the League’s intention to continue its current fixture schedule where safely possible. "Manchester United continues to have an ongoing COVID-19 outbreak within their squad, which has left them unable to field a team for the match at Old Trafford. "The Premier League Board assesses applications to postpone matches on a case-by-case basis, based on existing rules and COVID-19 postponement guidance issued to all clubs."
  20. Just looking at their next set of fixtures, hmm, doesn't bode well for us tonight - I think Klippty Klopp will put out a very strong team - Sunday 19th December PREMIER LEAGUE Tottenham Hotspur16:30Liverpool Wednesday 22nd December EFL CUP Liverpool19:45Leicester City Sunday 26th December PREMIER LEAGUE Liverpool12:30Leeds United Tuesday 28th December PREMIER LEAGUE Leicester City20:00Liverpool So looking at those fixtures - spurs and leicester are rampaged by covid at present - so he'll put out his 3rd team for them, and put out the 4th team for the leeds game, and they'll all be 4-0 wins. As the first fixture in Jan is Chelsea away, when all first team members will be fully rested.
  21. The thing is that he can't play too much of a defensive line up for the simple fact that it would be like the first 10 games we've played this season - backs to the wall and trying to hit them on the break, issue here is that we'd lose the ball midfield, and with too many people going forward then we'd be open to a 'right fucking'. So he's got to balance the defensive side of things with the possibility of having some sort of attacking prospect in the line up as well. So for me, I'd go with a 3-5-1-1 sort of formation, Dubs Manq Schär Lascelles fraser or murphy Hayden Shelvey willock ritchie or Almiron Joelinton Wilson With Fraser, Shelvey and Ritchie being able to drop back 'if needed' - like all the time. Let's see what happens. Fancying 3-1 to them.
  22. I'd be the opposite, get it played, out of the way, what's the point of putting something off ? as we could only be playing them in a few months when - 1. They are better. 2. We are "not" so good. Ah - the proof reading skills need an update.
  23. I thought it was next Sunday not this. https://thenantwichnews.co.uk/2021/11/29/acton-church-christmas-walk-on-december-12/ For those who aren't interested - lol.
