Chris Wood (now playing for Nottingham Forest)
South-Cheshire-Toon replied to BeloEmre's topic in Football
Just seen that forest will make the deal permanent when the transfer window opens (source bbc sport - forest to release lingard and 5 others). https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65789316 "Serge Aurier has triggered an automatic one-year extension on his deal, while the club have confirmed striker Chris Wood's loan from Newcastle United will become a permanent transfer when the window re-opens." -
Looking at that then we're not going to know the final pots standings until the morning of the 31st August. But can someone explain why - All of pot 2 have a higher rating than most of pot 1 ? Why are the manure in pot 2 not 3 as they finished 3rd ? And if someone says ratings then why aren't all of the highest rated in pot 1, the pot 2 etc ?

Pts / GD Eve 33 -24 Lei 31 -18 Lee 31 -27 If Everton win - the others down - no matter the results. If Everton lose or draw, then Leicester only have to win - goal difference in their favour. - wouldn't matter what Leeds did (hypothetically - if Leeds won by 11 more goals than Leicester scored then Leeds would stay up). Leeds on the other hand is a different - so Everton lose 1-0, then Leeds need to win by 3 clear goals to be certain - or 2 and their goals scored (74) is better than Eve (57). If Everton lose by more then Leeds have to win by less. And then Leicester would have to draw or lose as well. I'd prefer Everton to stay up this season, and next - so we get a visit to their new ground in 24/25 season. Coral odds are - to stay up - Everton - 2/9, Lei - 4/1 and Leeds 10/1.

I'm in 6th place, 22 pts behind you two, but on for 23 minimum, 28 maximum this week - so caught up a slight bit - but not enough to get into 5th place - unless I have a magic final week (60 points should do it - LOL) BUT, if at the start of the season, like Newcastle, you'd say to me - would you like to finish in the top 6 - then I'd have bitten your hand off to finish there - so all in all - am very pleased for my final position - even with a week to go. Also pleased as well to get a top weekly score - would be interesting to see the stats on who had the most - a small mini table to show.

OFFICIAL: Joelinton - Player of the Season 2022/23
South-Cheshire-Toon replied to Big River's topic in Football
I've gone for Murphy, as he always seems to give 100%, he's not a household name - but deserves credit for persistence and if there were a stat for the number of times someone had hit the post/bar - i'm sure he'd not be far of the top spot. Hope he remains with us - as not certain what Howe will do to the squad - but here's to him - get's my vote. -
I'll be the first to dip my toe into the water, I know the games are a week or so away but if I don't do them now then I'll forget - Gameweek 29 Man City 3-1 Liverpool Arsenal 3-0 Leeds Bournemouth 2-2 Fulham Brighton 2-2 Brentford Palace 2-1 Leicester Forest 2-1 Wolves Chelsea 1-1 Villa West Ham 2-0 Southampton Newcastle 3-1 Man United Everton 1-2 Spurs Bournemouth 1-2 Brighton Leeds 2-0 Forest Leicester 0-1 Villa Chelsea 1-2 Liverpool Man United 1-2 Brentford West Ham 0-2 Newcastle

So to start with - Didn't go, Didn't watch it live on tv, only seen hightlights and some posting on youtube. But with regard to the post about the Nottingham game and others - there are several differences - 1. The forest game is one of many - so there isn't, what i call "the fear of losing" which is what there was on Sunday. 2. At most games everyone is in the position they want to be - but on Sunday because of the ticket arrangements and numbers i get the feeling there wasn't enough of the right type of people to get an atmosphere going.
