  1. I'm doth my cap to you sir, must have patience of a Saint typing all that in. Check https://www.premierleague.com/fixtures for all fixtures and those to be re arranged.
  2. Issue with Everton is that they will have some many games to play, there are already four that need to be re-arranged from covid/fa cup - and that's not including any that have to be re-arranged if they get through to the next round. And all of these will have to be played by season end, I can see it being like Notts Forest, they had to play 4 in one week, Sat, Tues, Thurs, Sat - this was before the days of Sky.
  3. Just done a check, and out of the bottom 7 teams, there are the following number of '6 pointers' Newcastle - 3, Everton, Norwich, Burnley. Brentford - 3, Watford, Everton, Leeds. Leeds - 2, Watford, Brentford. Everton - 4 - Newcastle, Brentford, Watford, Burnley. Watford - 4 - Leeds, Brentford, Burnley, Everton. Burnley - 4 - Norwich, Watford, Newcastle, Everton. Norwich - 2 - Burnley, Newcastle. Also interesting to note that Watford have taken more away points than at home, their away form may be what keeps them up.
  4. Ah well - there was a slight glimmer of hope, never mind.
  5. That's the $64M question - How many people will be there - does anyone know how many season ticket holders there are ? i forget the ground capacity, but if a sizeable amount of people are season ticket holders then they ain't getting in. This I think - as our end will most probably be sold out - could act in our favour. But prior to the game last night I said I'd say this - " As much as I'd like us to win every game from now to eternity - the 'run' will have to come to an end, so I wouldn't be too unhappy, with the league position we are in, for us to lose on Sunday." A lose might be hard to take given the run we are on, but it's only the same as the surprise when winning when on a winless run as per earlier in the season, but I feel as thought the team are now bonding, and the moral in the camp wouldn't be too dented if we did lose. Am predicting a 3-1 home win, as much as i'd like a win, you never know thought.
  6. Quite a quandary, as if you look at the table - Villa - 30 pts Lei - 27 pts New - 25 pts So a win for leicester would then create a phycological 'gap' of 5 points, which i feel we wouldn't want, however a draw, would then enable us to still be in touching distance of moving further up the table, and dependant on scores perhaps bring Leicester and Villa (and perhaps others) into the relegation battle. I'm hoping for a draw, as that would be better for us as I see it.
  7. If someone knows a way of cutting and pasting text into this forum then let me know as all formatting seems to be lost whenever I do a cut and paste from excel. But yes, if I can get the paste working then I'll update the table, as it seems that for some it's a bit confusing, or it is their brain power ?
  8. Just thought you'd like to see (a very poor copy - wish there was a better way to paste into this forum) off my s/sheet I use to record the results. Shows games to go, dates and who, (note - doesn't show home or away - hence two Lei's for Everton as still yet to play them). 9. Sorry, but I think from the beeb's website there was a mis-quote - Printed - "I am coming in with one aim and that is to get Albion to the Premier League." Correction - "I am coming in with one aim and that is to get Albion to the League One."
  10. Wouldn't want to be in training this week - will be absolutely manic I would imagine.
  11. On another note - do you think they'll get a replacement in - in time for them to make any purchases, as if not, then they'll have to stick with the squad they have, which could benefit us in the long term.
  12. I was in the process of replying, and my tablet had a fit. But it may be better that we go down, and hopefully come straight back up, as at present we can't attract anyone as they don't want to be playing in a lower league.
  13. Wouldn't want them to draw nor win - keeps them in the right part of the table.
  14. He's the type of player, in not knowing any of the other as much as they know them (if you get what i mean) - could/would make a good captain - as he can come in and give people shit and let them know it. I think this is where lascelles is letting us down, it's like, "well he's my friend and i don't what to hurt his feelings" - Fuck that - they them their shite and to pull their fingers out - that's what you are being paid to do. But we'll see in the near future.
  15. It's now quite interesting to see who's posting what crazy ideas as to who we could now be looking at signing, as without a doubt, the management have targeted several players to fill specific rolls. But only the trippier one was a starter from the get go - ALL of the others are just hearsay - I'm waiting with baited breath to see what happens - My browser is on a constant 20 second refresh. And at this moment I couldn't even to think to state players we could be interested in - as we've never been in this position - having money to spend. The mind can only boggle at what the permutations of the players out there - with the budget we have - and it's only 6 days into a 31 day window. I think I'm going to need a lie-down.
  16. Just found an old link - https://metro.co.uk/2021/11/15/aaron-ramsey-wants-premier-league-return-but-400000-a-week-wages-are-stumbling-block-15603203/ Fuck that for a game of soliders. Ā£40,000 yes, Ā£400,000 - on yer bike son - find some other mug to sign you. Perhaps this is why so many european clubs are in the shite, paying way over the odds for some outdated players. Read that Umtiti at Barca, who they are trying to offload is on Ā£210,000 a week - FFS.
  17. Aaron Ramsey - Whilst not being mentioned in dispatches - it is widely known that he wants away - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59885415 But in a previous webpage edition it quoted that he was on, get this. 390,000 Ā£/euros a week - now the guy may be good - but I dont think there is a cat in hell's chance of us wanting him at that rate. Thoughts ?
  18. Just reading about Eriksen - Would it be worth a punt on him ? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59873198 As he doesn't currently have a club.
  19. I was just thinking the same thing. Here we are on only the 4th day of the window, and we're panicking that we've not signing anybody. In days gone by, we'd be panicking on the 24th day (and cursing the, then, previous mgmt and owners for being shite). It's early days, and yes, it would be nice to get one or two 'in the bag' but it's early days - (hopefully) - the signings will come.
  20. With all the talk since the take over, and with the transfer window upon us now is the time to see what the general concensus is.
  21. Shouldn't that be a upshift not a downgrade? But any how you are feeling better about things. For what it's worth I've never been below a 3, and still at that point now.
  22. A daft thought, IF the same 11 play, less ASM and Wilson, and bring in Gayle and Anderson - How would that sound ? ( waits a few minutes and hears howls of laughter emanating from the north east. )
  23. I think we've been walking around with rose tinted specs on at present by way of the europhoria of those initial training sessions, seeing everyone running around, getting fitter etc. The 'pie in the sky' thinking was that this would be immediately brought to the pitch, now whilst not there yet, there has been a massive improvement with the standards of the team as a whole, but as reported, it will be those little individual errors that let us down. Come the new year, and with several player joining us of a better quality and calibre then I can see the whole team performance improving. Looking at the fixtures, Everton onwards for 5 or 6 games will be the decisive time of the season. Forever hopeful that we can pull it out of the bag.
  24. Am surprised shelvey or joelinton aren't captain.
