  1. Whilst I'm loving where we are at at present, and don't get me wrong - may it last forever, I've a small seed of doubt about our overall performances, so the away game at Arsenal will be a good pointer as to where we 'actually' are with regard to team playing and strengths. If you were to ask me how the season, as a general whole, for all teams is going, then I'd say that the 'usual suspects' aren't playing at their best (Liverpool earlier in the season - good example) - which is making us look good - hence the comment above about the Arsenal game. Personally - I think we'll end up some where in the top 7, and I'd really like us to get to a cup final - that then would be a catalyst for the future as then being able to attract a better calibre of player.
  2. My world cup form is still with me - as on 24 pts with one game to go.

  4. First - A BIG thank you to Magpie for doing this - you are a gent for doing this in your own time. Second - Well done to Magpie (for winning) and everyone else who took part. Third - I hope I can now take this form into the Weekly predictions (as I'm in need of some divine inspiration). Fourth - Are we on for 2026 ? Fifth - Are we also on for the Euro's in 2024 ?

  10. After seeing them last night - why weren't they 20/1 and Canada 1/2 - LOL. If only Canada had their shooting boots on - then there'd be another World Cup Shocker. If Belgium play like that for the next two games - they'll be going home.

  15. I think what the first quote is saying, and I may be wrong here - so please do correct me, is that Villareal didn't have a history, as in they have no illustrious past to compare to, nor 'live up' as it's an expectation of the fans that that's where they should be, ie in the top flight division, and winning trophys. Doing a google search to get the wiki page for the team - it seems that after a very long time, the team (real) is on the move upwards so their fans are still, for the want of a better word - riding the wave. 1 History 1.1 1923–29: Early years 1.2 1929–98: Time in lower divisions 1.3 1998–2012: La Liga and European debuts 1.4 2012–present: Relegation and European glory Whereas, Villa have won in the 80's several European trophies - so it is there days that their fans are wanting to go back to - because to them - they are a big team and deserve to be there - no matter what. This last sentence is bollocks tbh as NO team deserve to be at the top unless they have earned it - so let's see how he does. I'd be interested to see where Stevie G. next appears.
  16. Don't get me wrong - I'm loving where we are in the league - but ask me if this will last - then I have to honestly answer - No. We'll no doubt finish top half - where - any ones guess. Reasoning for my slightly negative answer is, that whilst we seem to have a decent, and can fall back on people, defence, the front line consists of one person - Wilson (at present) for the person to score the goals. Yes, Miggy has added a few, but if you look at other teams they have attackers in depth - which is something we don't. I think it will be a time will tell answer for Isak, hopefully he'll be the real deal, but in January if we want to 'really' be pressing for that top 6 finish then at least 3 new players are needed. An attacking Midfielder / forward, and two 'wing players'.
  17. How about Chelsea - United a draw. We beat Spurs. We'd then be in the top 4 !!!
  18. Forest 0-3 Liverpool Everton 1-1 Palace Man City 3-0 Brighton Chelsea 1-2 Man United Villa 2-1 Brentford Leeds 1-1 Fulham Southampton 0-3 Arsenal Wolves 1-2 Leicester Spurs 2-1 Newcastle West Ham 1-0 Bournemouth
  19. I think, looking at the posts for GW12 - that it is going to be a low scoring round - so far from what I can see. Am only on 9 points with the two games to go tonight.
  20. Brighton 3-1 Forest Palace 1-1 Wolves Bournemouth 1-2 Southampton Brentford 1-3 Chelsea Liverpool 4-0 West Ham Newcastle 2-1 Everton Man United 1-2 Spurs Fulham 2-1 Villa Leicester 0-2 Leeds
