  1. Not touching Arsenal now I've seen the teams. Don't rate that Sanogo at all.
  2. Debuchy, Cisse, Ameobi, Marveaux, HBA, LDJ, Remy and Colo all likely to leave
  3. Unjustifiably or not, I've got this image of Milan, at home, being right up for it on big European nights. Atletico may well win, but I don't think they're especially good value (unlike PSG last night who were a similar price but great value). As I say, 15/8 Costa anytime is a bit crackers. Nearly 2/1 for a man who has 26 goals this season, to find the net. Without even considering Milan's at times pantomime defence, it's good value. Andy: you say 4/1 is too big and yeah it does sound big, but I'd say it's about right. Bayern have been beaten twice - once in a one-off Super Cup game vs Dortmund before the season started, and once at home to Man City in what was a dead rubber game for them. They've drawn twice - once at Freiburg, once at Leverkusen. They've won every single other game. That's frightening. Records are there to be broken, but I think 4/1 is fair. No doubting Bayerns prowess, but like I say I think getting 4/1 for Arsenal to win any home game is value and I reckon they'll be in the game for long periods so you should at least get a run for your money.
  4. I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to work out whats gone on. The likelihood is that both HBA and Marv have voiced concerns to Pardew after becoming the scapegoats for the managers recent inadequacies. The managers pathetic response is to tell HBA to find another club in the Summer and told Marv to go and rot in the reserves. Even if that isn't what's happened, Pardew is still an uber cunt.
  5. I didn't like the school metaphor, let it down IMO Well place your own little metaphor in there instead and you get the same outcome People jumping in to defend Marv over Pardew, doesn't make sense. One's a cunt, one's a talented footballer being mis-managed. Makes perfect sense.
  6. Sometimes I play by prices. 4/1 for Arsenal to beat anyone in the world at home is too big. I try to always back Barca every time they're evens or bigger simply because that price is too big for Barca to win any game of football.
  7. I didn't like the school metaphor, let it down IMO Same here. As a kid your mates were never wrong and the teacher was always wrong.
  8. That's what I like about them, purity of purpose and belief in their approach. It's brilliant IMO. I agree with Ian, praise the lord! OMG. Have your read Henry V? This is like that, everyone will always remember where they were. Makes a nice change.
  9. Before the game Barcelona were supposed to be unhappy that the ref was from Sweden as he would be more sympathetic to the English game! Every year there's a problem with the selection of the referee in the latter stages of the Champions League. Every club just about is guilty of it, it's pathetic.

  11. What's your problem with that? Apart from the hypothetical nature of it, it suggests a desire for Newcastle fans to lose games. For the greater good.
  12. I thought about getting that but the reviews were s***. I thought it was decent and had some valid points. One particular one that Pardew could take note of is corner to goals ratio and how statistically it may be better to play a corner short, keep the ball and keep your shape with defenders staying back. Overall it was worth reading, better than doing nout on the way to work.

The striking options that the club own - that's what I should have specified. Yet again, you crave longevity yet you're happy with these two loan signings. Someone already mentioned about Sunderland relying on loan signings to keep them up and look at their league position now. Ok, if you'd specified 'that the club own' I'd have said, "Absolutely horrendous, but we have these loans for now who are really good". I'm not being inconsistent - I crave longevity, so I'd rather have permanent signings, but we have these loans which are ok for now. Preferring permanent signings doesn't mean I pretend the loans haven't happened or that they somehow don't count as signings. Loans for a club our size are utterly pathetic. It's a way for the club to spend minimal amounts - something you'll be absolutely chuffed about. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2011/jan/25/emmanuel-adebayor-real-madrid-loan http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/23015682 - Cheap option when board are unwilling. Courtois was done because it was clear from the outset that the loan deal would be for a long time until Cech was finished. To be honest there's nowt wrong with the odd one but to be reliant on loan players is wrong.

When was the last time we signed a striker on a permanent deal? Considering it's been a major problem since Carroll left.

The season lasts until May. Let's see where we end up - top 10 isn't a given.
