Definitely get the feeling it will be this guy and this guy only, I can barely comprehend Ashley spending another 6-7 million this guy never mind another striker for 8-12 mil. Riviere, Cisse, Gouffran, Perez will probably be our pool of first choice strikers, and that would definitely worry me.

He wasnt "finished" before he got injured, he was an average squad player who can fill in and do a job just like Perch did. Providing he can fully recover from his injury there's no reason why he cant be a squad player for us again.

I have no problem with having him on the bench, he can fill in in emergencies and is probably the best free kick and set piece taker at the club.

Random twitter gobshite said something similar earlier, that we weren't the only club after him.

He certainly has to work hard an earn his place back in the team, which is why its so important we bring in a couple of quality strikers for the competition. Something else I've been meaning to ask aswell do we think Gouffran will be able to do a job up front rather than shoehorned out wide? After all that is his natural position (striker), if we really do fail to sign a striker or two then maybe this is the best option going forward, he certainly looks like he wouldn't be shy of a few goals if regularly played through the middle.

I just keep thinking about that ridiculous form he was in when he signed, its obviously within him to hit those high levels and nothing would give me greater pleasure than seeing him prove everyone wrong and hit those levels again. Can I see it happening? Can I fuck.

No excuses from Cisse if he is our main striker and still cant score with Cabella, De Jong and Sissoko behind him.

Would have been happier with him over De Jong for sure, he looks absolutely brilliant, and more of an out and out Cabaye replacement. People are right when they are saying they went for De Jong because hes cheaper, its always price over what we actually need.

Obviously wish the lad a speedy recovery but this could be a blessing in disguise because hes shite. Haidara please!

Good video on Youtube, the scout nation one, shows pretty much all of his goals and assists from last season, the thing that stands out for me is that he looks equally as good with his right foot as he is with his left, seems to be able to pass, dribble and score with both. Someone mentioned he looks a more complete version of Ben Arfa that seems quite accurate, doesn't look as tricky but looks like he has a much better eye for goal which is something lacking with Ben Arfa I think, his finishing can be pretty bad.

Pardew will stick with Paul Plummett at LB.

Not as good looking as Cabaye but he'll do.
