They will definitely take his number 10 off him and give it to Siem, its a perfect way to give HBA one last nudge out of the door. Wouldn't be surprised if these odious cunts signed him to do just that.

"This summer may see De Jong on the move, with the player himself indicating that he is ready for a move. A transfer to the English premier league appeals, but he may also elect to join his brother Luuk in the Bundesliga. A frequent visitor to Monchengladbach to see Luuk in action, Siem has indicated a move to Germany may be his preferred option. First team football is a must for the attacker, who is eyeing up a place in the Dutch national squad for the upcoming World Cup. Coach Luis van Gaal called De Jong up for the recent World Cup qualifiers, but sees the Ajax man as a striker rather than a midfielder. This means he must compete with not only Klaas jan Huntelaar, Robin van Persie, and Dirk Kuyt for a place in the squad, but also his brother Luuk. Whoever does sign De Jong will be getting a technically gifted play-maker, adept now in midfield or in attack. His best position is still as an old fashioned number 10, who is allowed to float around behind the striker. At 6ft 1 he also adds a physical presence to midfield, helping him fend off tackles, as he strides forward. Although he has scored a number of goals, finishing is still an area of De Jong’s game that could be improved. This season, De Jong is one of the biggest shot takers, having attempted 89 in 32 appearances, but with only 11 goals to show for it. Something that needs to improve if De Jong is to become a regular forward. The sun is setting on Siem de Jong’s time in Amsterdam, but he will always be remembered as part of the most successful Ajax side of recent times. Potentially leaving with 3 Eredivisie winners medals, and a KNVB Cup success. Not bad for the man, known by many football, as the less talented brother of Luuk."

Again it will be a case of buying a highly rated flair player and the manager being unwilling and or unable to choose a system to fit him into.
-
The longer it goes without bringing in striking reinforcements the more I think we will just sign him back. Lets be honest Pardew would be absolutely delighted.

Steven Taylor guaranteed starter next season though

"He's been with us since 2009. Is 22. And till now no premier league club has wanted him. Why is he then deemed good enough to be good depth? Why risk giving him a trial? What if he isn't good enough which it mostly seems so and we suffer because of it?"

Utterly ridiculous.

More game time for Jack

Other guy jumped in at my defence but moron still thinks hes right. Non Moron Stop being so pig headed and aloof moron the guy has put forward a valid argument and replied to all the things you infer he is saying yet you still don't get it!! Double face palm Moron Not really, he was insisting you only get good players by spending big which is a load of rubbish Non Moron He never once said that! You said he said that! Read his post again. Moron Haha ashley sympathiser? Notice it is spelt with an 's' in the uk. And that is a totally crap insult hahaha did you think of that all by yourself? Moron Also the club have never said our ONLY aim is premiership survival, they have said the premier league is our focus which has been interpreted by morons to mean thats all we want Me We are not interested in the cups, and the club also stated that Europe isn't worth it for the small amount of money it brings to the club, therefore all that's left is premier league, so lets be fair we aren't gonna win the league, so the best we can hope for under Ashley is a top half finish, which is unlikely due to his unwillingness to improve the team and indeed poor manager, therefore the best we can hope for is mid-table mediocrity. But other teams are strengthening around us while we get worse, leaving out our most talented players and playing boring, negative football. The aim is very much premier league survival, so Ashley can keep raking in the premier league TV money in an attempt to recoup his money in the club. Moron Haha this is funny, the club have said europa league isn't worth it, not europe in general and lots of clubs say that about europa. Also last season we finished 10th so forgive me if i am wrong but i do believe 10th is top 10. How can you have a proper debate with someone who is this thick? Banging head against a wall here.
-
The problem is for years on end our fan base has been told they are deluded to expect anything other than mediocrity and that little old Newcastle should be happy with just getting in the odd bargain basement signing here and there, so now the fans with the lower IQ's go out of their way to prove they are not deluded, they do this by advocating that we shouldn't be spending any sort of decent money on players. This sort of fan plays right into the hands of Ashley, and he probably knows it. Some just swallow media bullshit and some are just brain dead also.

Me We will get more in before the deadline most likely but I doubt it will be the kind of players we all hope, the fact is we aren't willing to offer anything other than piss take offers for quality players when sometimes you have to stump up and pay at least the going rate, you can't always get a bargain 100% of the time. I fully expect us to target, free transfers loans and players who are in the last 6 months of their contract. It matters not to Ashley how these players benefit us or fit into the team in areas we need, only that they are cheap or have potential sell on value. Our aims are merely to survive in the premier league so he feels he doesn't need to spend decent money. Such is our ambition. Moron Decent money isn't always money well spent. I would prefer to sign players like ba on a free and remy on loan than forking out 17 million on the likes of owen. So i dont care if we only sign free agents and loan signings, it is what they do on the pitch that matters not their price tag. Me You, as most Ashley sympathizers do, are completely missing the point here, I never advocated going out and spending 100 million on mercenaries just for the sake of it. I'm saying when there is an opportunity to sign a quality player for a reasonable price, or the going rate sometimes you have to pay that money to progress as a football club. If there are decent players available on the cheap or on loan then certainly go for that aswell, but there has to be a balance, the simple fact is sometimes you have to spend a bit to go forward. The business model of signing all loans and free transfers is never going to take the club forward. The fact is though Ashley is not interested in taking us forward as a club, as the club have already stated the only aim is premier league survival, which is why unfortunately this is what we're stuck with, and I honestly cannot see how any fan can be happy with this. Moron The value of the player means fuck all, if you think it does then you should give your head a shake. Me You still dont get it, if we could get players as highly rated as the likes of Siem De Jong, Remy Cabella, Clement Grenier etc.... for free or 2 million each then fair enough, but the fact is we CANT as these are quality players and sometimes in order to get these players, teams are required to pay the going rate or at least close to the going rate, we are not willing to do this, and this is one of the many reasons the club will not move forward under Ashley. I'll say it again, I dont want large sums spent for the sake of it or to say we've spent X or Y, its just sometimes its necessary to do so to bring in quality players. Understand? Moron Yes i completely agree, torres valued at 50 million, luiz valued at 50 million, carroll 35 million. They are all fantastic football players we should sign one and offer a high fee. *Facepalm* Just can't argue anymore with this clown.

Another one who will realise he can do better and leave, we might get another season out of him if we're lucky.

"I would also like to remind people that Athletico Madrid were perceived as a mid table club who follow our business model and who are now la Liga champions who also reached the CL final! But that doesn't matter. All that matters is that you slag off your beloved club. As I have said on many occasions, some 'fans' hatred of Ashley has outstripped their love of the toon. Any good news is treat with derision and any not so good is a reason to go nuclear.......At xmas we were 4pts behind Liverpool, so the basics are there, just some acute aquisistions and fine tuning coupled with a bit of patience is required. We are primed for take off in the next couple of seasons and actually the envy of a lot of clubs around Europe." So much

You can say "hes goslings replacement" all you like, but we know the king will have him ahead of the likes of Anita because he offers the "graft" and "english grit" hes Pardews bread and butter. Far more likely he will be played as if hes Cabayes replacement. -
