  1. Its finished I think like, cant see us getting out of this now, especially playing like that, the defence and central midfield was nothing short of a shambles defensively. Unless something amazing happens and we pick up a lot of unexpected point in December its over for us.
  2. As much as we all want to see attacking football you can't just decide to pile everyone forward constantly when you have clark at cb and Murphy and Ritchie half covering the fullback positions. We have been picked apart which was always going to happen.
  3. Jones will be having a quiet word in their ear in the tunnel on the sly telling them to sit back and no fucking attacking.
  4. Think we will win this, there will be a better starting 11 that makes sense and has a plan, the atmosphere will be absolutely electric and the players will want to try and put on a show. I think even after only 2 weeks of training we will look completely different, whether it all clicks and looks pretty straight away is another story but I don't expect to see the sitting deep, backs to the wall scared to move the ball around shite. Been a long, long time since I've been this invested and this excited for a match, it feels like a big part of my life is back and it feels so good!
  5. I lived in Kenton, Gosforth, Fawdon, Blakelaw till I was about 28, then moved over the water and have only heard a handful of people talk like that.
  6. Theres a 10 minute video been uploaded to the official YouTube channel, fantastic interview with NUFCtv. Talks about what he's done to better himself on his time out.
  7. Graeme Jones on NUFC’s ‘five day’ preparation after scrapping customary day off… “The more time on the training ground, it’s simple maths, you have a better chance of performing". Also confirms his remit remains to take charge of Chelsea & he'll speak to owners again tomorrow. Shots fired.
  8. Heard a rumour today that Rafa was supposedly staying at the Vermont in town, and the delay over appointing someone is that there are ongoing talks to try and persuade him back and out of his contract at Everton. (Just an unconfirmed rumour from a friend, dont shout at me) Edit: the friend is not Burnsie.
  9. Nowt happening tonight like. Cancelling the celebratory takeaway.
  10. Anyone else wish Ashley would buy us back?
  11. Getting absolutely fuck all done, just scrolling twitter and lurking on this forum hoping something happens.
  12. When he plays up front he looks like a CB playing up front, when hes out wide he looks like a target man striker pushed out wide. He wasnt the worst on the pitch by far yesterday but I can't see him ever being what we want him to be... whatever that is.
  13. This is exactly it, if we knew 100% there was no chance of him staying past 1 or 2 games it would just bout be palatable, but they might see him as the man to get us to safety while they build other parts of the club.
  14. I do feel like we can trust Staveley to do the right thing and sack him, I just worry that if we do say manage to squeak a win against Spurs and beat Palace with him in the dugout they might "give him a crack" as he likes to say. That would be utterly depressing.
  15. Agreed, but I think we might just have to be patient maybe for this and the Palace game, I'd still rather they take the time to make the right decision on the manager. Id personally prefer we just let Jones take over temporarily but apparently they like Bruce.
  16. I think rightly or wrong he'll be here for at least the Spurs game, I have a feeling that the plan is that he stays until we've inteviewed all of our targets and they are ready to appoint him. I think with this all happening unexpectedly they haven't had time to sort things out ahead of time and this is what we are seeing now with the managerial situation. I hope I'm wrong though and its announced hes been bounced out of Newcastle forever before Sunday.
  17. That sort of stuff will calm down eventually I'd imagine but Sunday will be absolutely rife with it.
  18. Cant really disagree with any of it, so whats the answer, is recognising and disagreeing with their practices while simultaneously supporting the club an acceptable way to go about it? I suppose thats the choice everyone has to make on their own.
  19. Aye, but there was always another option, immediately sack him and put Jones in charge until the replacement is hired, risky you might say? In many other circumstances yes, but we have won 0 from 8 games, we literally cant do any worse. Should have been peddled first thing Monday morning. Not a disaster but definitely a mistake IMO.
