We've got two 40 million pound wingers, a 63 milion pound striker a midfield three worth a combined 130 million pounds (if he plays his best three which he rarely does) Two 35 million pound fullbacks and Schar who everyone claims is the dogs bollocks, the only weak link on paper is Burn and I'd say he's been one of the better performers this season. We are a spent force under Howe, it hasn't looked right for absolutely ages.

So disappointed thinking back on last night, it was made for us to go and put on a show and feels like a game we would usually steamroll at home, feel good factor back a bit after winning three on the bounce, night game at home, wor flags putting on another cracking display, started the game on the front foot....then that, very unlike Howes Newcastle, I just worry we've been found out and are on a slow decline. The inconsistency of last season is bleeding into performances and a distinct lack of goal threat and cutting edge. A couple of very good signings needed in January and Howe needs to start getting it right with the system and personnel.

Howe needs to find a system that works for his best players otherwise eventually we need to bring in a manager who can.

Performance was excellent overall and we got what we deserved in the end. Credit to Howe for seemingly turning things around and putting us right back on track for a good season. Proud of that performance today. Edit: thought Dan Burn was sensational, he was everywhere, under rated player.

Really liked the look of him every time he's come on, looks strong and quick and has very quick feet, had he been played in when he should have been he may well have got off the mark tonight.

We desperately need him back, as much as I hate still having to rely on him he's a fantastic striker in the fleeting times he's fit.

Longstaff offering far more than Tonali and has shored up the midfield, bloke isn't good enough overall but a better option for me ATM.

Don't think he's very good at all, loads of weird hype with this lad.

It'll take some a long time to admit this, but I've thought this from day one, he's done so much for us but never thought hed be the one to deliver any real or consistent success.

Can see us between 8th-10th but an impressive January window could change that I suppose.

The problem is both Gordon and Barnes only really look effective on the left, still one of our strangest moves spending 85 million on two LW's when we don't have any competent RW's, both are good players of course but when money is limited, spending half of that on an RW would have been the smart choice.

To be fair Tonali hasn't looked particularly bad but he's shown nothing yet to suggest he's going to be a transformative signing for us. I'm not saying that can't and won't happen but so far he does look distinctly average.

During games we seem to have lots of chances to cross the ball or pull it back and we never seem to have anyone in the right place to attack them, the quality of the balls are sometimes not good but ultimately we just never seem to move to the right areas, it's incredibly frustrating.

Positive of today is that he's looked closer to being back to his old self today, loads of good movement and getting into the right areas.

To be fair as a team that's vocal about wanting to be a top European team I don't think it's too much to expect a good performance and a win to go with it now and then 🤣

Lewis Hall is another one to add to our list of awful crossers of the ball/corner takers.
