Yeah agree, I just edited my post as it isn't the nationality that matters but the fact they are linked. It does seem strange given the timing that he's stepped down though. Fingers crossed its all coming together.

Who's burnise mouth of the tyne? If so no but I did get it from twitter where I've seen a number of people say it. Isn't there more than one Premier league club with the owners who are the same nationality though? Edit - obviously not the nationality that matters but surely there are other owners that can be linked like the Saudi family
-
Apparently it's the chairman that's an issue and not the owner due to the chairman having day to day involvement.
-
Tbf to him if the rumours about him not liking Bruce are true, you can't blame him. It's unprofessional but working with that fucking dinosaur week after week would make you question if you want to give up football and take a job in IKEA.

Many of us said at the time that the government would want this deal to go through. The amount of investment would be too good to turn down. I think even now there is a high chance of slight pressure from number 10 to get this done one way or another. The benifits for Boris far far outweigh the negatives.

"catching fish" "rich" ard masters?! ?
-
We're trying to tell the arbitration panel that MBS has no involvement with our takeover and there he is telling Boris to get the deal done or he will cut trade with the UK. That absolutely does us no favours. However, I agree that it "shouldn't" be enough ammo for the PL to kill the deal.
-
The latest one by hope seems to have ruined all NDM's good work though. We wanted them seperate didn't we? ?
-
I wonder if it's to late for the evidence released today to be used in the arbitration hearing. If its not to late then surely that means arbitration hasn't started which in turn means the club shop news has no relevance on the takeover. Likewise if the club shop news is takeover related then I'm not sure why the PL leaks being released are so significant. The two together don't really make much sense.
-
Fantasy world that contains an actual written statement from the club specifically saying they are doing everything they can to get the takeover done? What does your real world contain?

How have Man City played the joint most games in the league when they're still in every competition going?!
-
Doesn't want to dare put himself through it so it makes him sound like a fan (like every other household) 1. It's your fault. 2. You're the manager, not a fan. 3. Watch the game and maybe learn as much as possible about how they play, what the players are like, what formations they start with and one's they may switch to, in the off chance that we may have to play them in a game that could decide who stays in the league. But no, just sit at home stuffing your face while you get other people to tell you about Fulham and have no opinion of your own to judge them on, except of course "they're a very good team with an exciting young manager who are unlucky to be in the position they're in" This is his way.

So the possible new owners (PCP) haven't had any discussions about this despite what has been said online.
-
Can't decide what's worse. The disallowed Dortmund goal or the rule that blowing the whistle before hitting the net prevents VAR. Just absolutely ridiculous at this "elite" level.
-
Mouth of the tyne saying it is takeover related. He's constantly putting out tweets talking about it but when people ask for more info he says "I can't say" Jesus he craves the attention doesn't he.
-
So 5 at the back to prevent Spurs scoring. We fail and they score. Spurs go ultra defensive and we can't break them down and lose the game. "Pleased with the effort and we move on"

Same. I've always had a chip on my shoulder about Ashley pissing off the deal that could have been us instead of Man City. Never ever thought that opportunity would come again, now that it has, if it doesn't come off I just can't see me bothering. People say its not about the money and any owner would do but we'll just end up with another Ashley. With PIF and their billions you get guaranteed financial security for the club. Along with star players eventually joining. It's every football fans dream for their club. Them walking away would kill hope and ambition.
-
Only Mike Ashley would willingly relegate a club in order to force a sale. If the consortium have said we still want the club, Ashley knows this is his best chance of getting money that is sitting there waiting. It may not be the amount he wanted, but its money, and you have to ask yourself, does Ashley care more about money or the club? If he's getting wind that arbitration isnt/won't go well and or the PL still strongly object and are unwilling to compromise, then he will absolutely let the club sink so he can get shot of it in the football league. If the consortium have said we'll only buy if it remains in the PL, there's absolutely no valid reason he has done nothing about Bruce. At this moment Bruce is the biggest threat to Ashley getting a sale, and the fact that Ashley seems not bothered, in my opinion, speaks volumes.

Today's contract news is just the club continuing on as normal, has no relevance to the takeover imo. It would be ridiculous to let players leave for free given our current situation.
-
I think we've got 6 points (wins from Burnley and Sheff Utd) before we play Fulham. That would give us 34 which means we won't catch Brighton or Burnley. Can Fulham get 8 points in their next 7 games? Our fixture vs them could well be the decider which we would crumble in. Our gd effectively gives Fulham an extra point too.
-
He rejected their contract offer Wow. The audacity of him thinking he deserves better than fucking Burnley
-
Souness saying we're "still in a great position"
-
Allowed to leave on a free by Burnley. I mean surely that should have caused alarm bells?
