  1. 6 of the 13 prem games Pardew was in charge for he appeared as a sub. He was subbed off a further 5 times during this time. He also scored all of his goals after Pardew left. Dat management Maybe it was a little off putting having been given two world class players with such short notice though. Would explain the 9 game winless streak.
  2. Seemingly everyone in this thread agrees that Pardew is a bad manager, certainly not a good enough manager for the club. Yet, the thread just seems locked in this semantic exercise of 'he's not as bad as you make out'. Ok fine whatever. He's still bad. What sort of limp-wristed point is 'he's bad but not as bad as you say' when at the end of the day he isn't good enough.

  4. However Piara Powar, executive director of Fare (Football Against Racism in Europe), told the BBC: "This was a silly phrase to use in a diverse workforce. "One assumes it wasn't Freudian - there is no evidence to suggest it was. I think some players will see it as a reflection of the type of language still used by some coaches and some attitudes that still prevail." From the BBC's article. Hate the way these interest groups sensationalise things in order to get themselves exposure. Not quite as bad as the 'Society of Black Lawyers' but still why anybody gives these people the time of day is beyond me.
  5. Tevez kept them up though so I'm not sure there's a good reason not to play him.
  6. Agree, the stature of the club is of secondary importance to time on the pitch.
  7. You make me feel like I know nothing about football all the time.
  8. I think it's wrong that the FA are approaching a player who has hitherto expressed no desire to play for England purely because 'the rules' allow them to do so. If the Januzaj comes out and says I want to play for England, England is my home then that's fine, if that's the case there wouldn't be any need for the FA to approach him. When you have FA's approaching players who are potentially eligible to represent a Country it starts to get a bit murky. It also seems contrary to the spirit of International Competition. FWIW I don't like the parachuting in of other sportsmen into various National Teams.
  9. Knew I'd heard this before, admittedly 7 months ago is a bit different than 18 years. Mea Culpa.

  11. Off to war. Just might be more conducive to their development to not be too far away from home. As Roger says its not like there aren't potentially as good options closer to home.

  13. The problem I have with Australia is that its miles away to send a teenager.
  14. Knowing most British managers they probably think short = s*** Certainly in the lower leagues.
  15. He needs to go somewhere and play football. Obviously the higher up the better but there must be somewhere that will take him.
  16. Which is a worry as Pardew described him as the best finisher at the club.
