Great article that... reckons he's on £50k/week in the headline, then £85k/week in the main bit. Also, says they 'paid £30m for him last summer'... so we must have all the cash, eh??
-
I don't hate it, but its just pretty boring and uninspiring. If they were going to go with a relatively plain kit (i/e no stripes, hoops or patterns) from the past, I'd have rather had the 'Brazil' inspired kit from the mid-70's.
-
I'd guess that's our offer, as reports earlier in the week suggested our 'take it or leave it' offer was £10m. Adding potential future top ups means if he does well, we (hopefully) do well, and the top ups are deserved.
-
On that basis, are they going to charge John Terry as well, then?? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39999708

Meh, disappointed if that is the away shirt.... more or less the same as the blue training top, apart from the black sleeves. Had hoped they might have gone with a green/yellow kit or even the Blue and Maroon hoops.
-
They've pulled it.... was definitely showing with prices when the link was posted earlier. Must have went on too early. Think I saw another link mention available from 18th July.

Unless its a 3rd kit? We had that All black 3rd kit in 2011-12 season... black shirt, shorts and socks. Also had an all black away kit with Adidas in 2003-04 season. http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Newcastle_United/Newcastle_United-change-kits.html

That one is £100... but looks like the crest is an iron on, on that! http://www.nufcdirect.com/puma-newcastle-united-authentic-home-shirt-2017-2018-377410?colcode=37741040 http://images.nufcdirect.com/images/products/37741040_l_a2.jpg

It's also likely that we will have a sleeve sponsorship as well. Was looking at the new shirt yesterday in Mikes shop... noticed some of the adult ones had a Premier League badge on one sleeve only. Guessed that was to leave the other free for a sleeve sponsor... but would the club sell that patch separately, if people wanted to add it? New home shirt itself is ok... but that sponsor logo has a very plastic, cheap feel to it. Incidentally, the club crest is an embroidered patch, which is then sewn onto the shirt - not ironed on. But it is disappointing, after we used to get true embroidered badges on the Adidas shirts.

Yep - I just wondered if the colours were a pointer to what we can expect from either/both away kits?
-
Not sure if the training kit ever points towards the 2nd and 3rd kits, but these are now available.. http://images.nufcdirect.com/images/products/37458109_l.jpg http://images.nufcdirect.com/images/products/37458152_l.jpg http://www.nufcdirect.com/puma

New Home Shirt... $19.... Aliexpress... Just found it, and they only show a pic of the back of the shirt. Probably just some random non-branded black and white striped footy shirt.

The Grayson announcement tagged onto the end of the 'no-takeover' one.... almost like they're saying... "hey look, its not all bad news!"
-
Just waiting for 'Bally' to distance himself from it now!
-
But I thought they (Chelsea) had advising him previously to join us, as he'd experience the pressure of playing in front of huge crowds, etc?? All just media b*llocks, I suspect.
-
Seems to be the 'Image Rights' loophole.

"Ashley has his critics among the Toon army but he has poured his own money into the club to wipe out the debts meaning the club is in its healthiest position in years."

Swansea in the race to sign him now, too. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40325981

Saw this on a NUFC FB page yesterday... no idea who's it is, or how they got it done... https://www.facebook.com/1City1Club1LoveNufc/photos/a.993852210658825.1073741829.902541186456595/1599804430063597/?type=3&theater

Grayson distancing himself from the job now... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/sunderland-snubbed-another-managerial-target-10636251.amp

Didn't even know what that was, but turns out its just the League Cup's new sponsor.
-
Call me picky, but whilst I do love those '96 shirts, the lack of the Adidas stripes on the sleeves spoil those replicas IMO.
-
Hope its the same result as last time we played them!! Just hope they don't move it to the Monday night now.
-
Aye, formal approach made... gonna cost them £1m in compo http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11695/10914312/sunderland-approach-aberdeen-for-manager-derek-mcinnes

£30m after basically his first full season, in a team that finished bottom. The worlds gone mad. Wonder how much Woodman is worth then... he's just won the (u20s) World Cup, FFS!!! Hehe That'll be £30m off their debt to Short, then.
