Haha, given the atmosphere/chants towards him at the end of the Bournemouth match, it should be 'interesting' at their final home game, now.

Racially abuse someone? Certainly hope not. or this!

Aye, there is a replica. Brighton would get the real one with them being in a better position I would imagine. But there's a trophy for 2nd too isn't there, so there'll have to be two trophies at each ground? If the real Championship trophy is at Brighton's match (with them being in the better position), they'll be gutted when they get handed the snidey 2nd place trophy!

Mackems on MOTD now. How many empty seats early in the match??

Southampton penalty... lifeline for them EDIT: SAVED!!!!

Total sport last night, some mackem phoned in to have a rant about Moyes... declaring he wasn't renewing his ST next season, and wouldn't be going back until Moyes has gone. Then Bennett asked... "are you going tomorrow?" Mackem: "yes" They were creased at it on the show.

Saw this photo on the Chronicle website after the Boro game... http://i1.chroniclelive.co.uk/incoming/article12956144.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/JS117952142.jpg He looks dead inside, and that was him trying to be positive after their performance!!

Just looking at this again, as well as '1973' in their phone number, they also have 9-1. Unbelievable, and most definitely deliberate.

My boss (Brighton fan) has now gone from saying he'd be happy with 2nd place (all season), to being confident they'll win the title and deserve it. So, hoping we can win tonight and keep the pressure on them, and hope they drop points tomorrow and the last day, and hopefully we can pip them to it. Whilst promotion is/was the ultimate aim, it'd still be nice to win the thing, too!

Just seen this pic posted again on FB... be funny to see how long before it gets changed/removed. I say removed, as prime advertising in the Ponteland Airport must cost them a fair whack?

Perch Gosling Ben Arfa Tiote Sol Campbell Only Perch and Tiote cost fees, with Ben Arfa being on loan, and the others free transfers. Could be argued we had retained a better 'core' of players that went down... incl. Nolan, Barton, Carroll, Enrique, etc.

If, and its probably a very big IF, there is any truth in us wanting him back, then how would that work? If Spurs were paying us £6m/year for 5 years, then does that mean we get him back fro nowt and they pay us nowt more... i.e. we got £6m for a one year loan? Hehe I certainly wouldn't want to be paying ANY money for him, given how he's flopped since he left us.

Well last summer was the bumper big TV money summer wasn't it? And look how well they spent/recruited then... Djilabodji McNair Love Manquillo N'Dong +Januzaj and Denayer on loan. I have no fears over these spending any amount of money wisely!

Jesus H - 1842 posts on the thread about our HMRC carry-on   they are desperate, i even saw one of them saying it makes up for relegation , ffs  If we don't get any points deducted, they'll start a letter writing campaign to the FA on RTG, I guarantee it. and send them a big bunch of flowers.

Newcastle United lose Judicial Review against HMRC
TK-421 replied to ChrisMcQuillan's topic in Football
He was their player, but had a relegation release clause, hence the free transfer. From Wikipedia (for what its worth) Following their relegation to the Championship after a 3–2 loss away to Wigan Athletic he invoked a release clause in his contract allowing him to leave for free. He turned down a £50,000-a-week salary plus a bonus payment of £500,000 in order to stay in the Premier League with another club, triggering interest from both Everton and Newcastle United. -
Moyes clearly just hanging on for the sack and the pay-off now. Another (un)subtle dig at the fans again last night, saying something like he wouldn't have booed that performance, or the one against West Ham. Pictures on SSN of Anichebe and Defoe just glancing at the fans as they were chanting 'not fit to wear the shirt' said it all. Just need another quote from Lescott about relegation being a weight lifted, so they can enjoy the last few games.

In this delicate political climate, they don't want to be upsetting another Russian!! -
Newcastle United lose Judicial Review against HMRC

The raids are understood to be part of a wider HMRC investigation into the transfer of players between clubs in France and the UK. It is thought their focus has been on remuneration in terms of image rights, benefits in kind and payments to agents, which may have defrauded the public purse. Surely there was a rabbit away when Sunderland paid nearly £14m for Didier N'Dong??!!! -
I don't know why people are speculating on how much he will or wont have to spend. The one thing they are never going to reveal is how much they have to spend, as it will just affect prices. I still disagree that a certain amount of money spent will point to a decent season, or a relegation battle - its all about who he can bring in, and not necessarily for crazy fees. Think I might just sign off till the summer, and quit listening to Total Sport, as its turning into nowt but doom and gloom since promotion was secured!

THIS! Promotion sealed less than an hour ago, and already the negativity and worry about the summer/next season has started. Just enjoy the moment, FFS!!!

Newcastle United promoted back to the Premier League
TK-421 replied to Figures 1-0 Football's topic in Football
So basically 7 pts minimum from the last 3, and we don't need to worry about Huddersfield due to the goal difference? Any less and we need them to slip up. So annoying they've let it get this close. Squeeky bum time! -
Moyes dishing out easter eggs to the media today at his presser... makes a change from dishing oot threats, I suppose.

Their appeal for Larsson's red card has been rejected.

I'm sure this blokes just been on total spert Yeah, I heard that caller. Said a lot of the same things... "If this form had been under Pardew, there'd be hell on"... "This league is terrible, we should have walked it"... "if we dont win this league, Benitez has failed". Bets bit was, the caller and Anderson both agreed that if/when we go up, the squad needs an 'overhaul', not the 5 or 6 signings many fans are saying. They then proceeded to go through the first team player by player saying who they keep and who they'd get rid of... they only got rid of about 4 or 5 players??!!! Its like Andersons constant rhetoric that 'clubs need to spend about £100m just to stand still' in the PL.
