  1. Yeah, heard that - they keep talking about how good a season we have had, and the fact we are still 8th. No mention of the public lack of ambition, progress in cup competitions, etc. We should just be grateful to have beaten Man Utd, Chelsea and Spurs earlier in the season. The Man Utd result is looking weaker as the season goes on, with more and more teams beating them for the first time in however many years!
  2. Only heard bits and pieces of TotalSport on the way home, but did any fans manage to get through and state they were cancelling/not renewing season tickets? Heard a couple of callers critical of Ashley and Pardew, but neither seeming to mention the ST situation. Hopefully some of the media might pick up on it at some point.
  3. Lad at work says he cancelled his DD on friday afternoon, and started to have second thoughts about what he'd done, on saturday morning. By saturday afternoon, he was certain he'd done the right thing.
  4. As did Chris Hughton, of course.
  5. Whatever the financial state the club was in when he left (and I'm still not certain it was in great shape), I still question Shepherd's decision making in his last few years. Sacking Sir Bobby... appointing Souness, spending all the sponsorship money on Owen.... £9m for Luque... then appointing Roeder.... then Allardyce. I'm sure his heart was in the right place, compared to the current incumbant, but dear me, some of the problems we had were down to Shepherd.

    Papiss Cissé

They'll probably look at it that he's not getting on the pitch (much) anymore, and when he does he's barely contributing. They can potentially get a multi-million pound fee for him, and save on his wages too. As an added bonus, we (hopefully) aren't gonna go down, and our window is shut. "Everyone's a winner!"
  7. Good letter - thats the way it should be done IMO... telling the club exactly why you are cancelling/not renewing.
  8. The whole idea of a season ticket for the club is so that they know how much they are going to have coming in and use it to plan. It gives them an amount of forward planning and depending how you pay, money up front, or at least a guaranteed income. I pay at a certain date in the month and they know that they will get that money, even if I don't go to a game. Aye, and as we have a good amount of season ticket holders year on year, he's taken it for granted and pretty much knew that people would renew/buy them regardless of what he did. Hopefully the drop in holders (either by non-renewal or by cancellation now), will be significant enough for him to take notice.
  9. I meant more in terms of getting other players fired up for the occasion, and knowing the importance of the game. Pardew certainly isn't able to do it!
  10. Hehe, he's a bit of a heedcase, and a liability at times, but we could do with the likes of Him and Nolan on days like today. At least they knew what these matches mean.
  11. The best way to get sacked is to make us successful. Hehe, aye your probably right... if he got us to a 5th place finish again, there's no way Ashley would stand for him getting us into another Europa League Campaign.

    Sunderland

Just shows that regardless of how bad the players may seem to be, a manager who can organise them and get them motivated, can get results out of them. But, we have Pards.
  13. Exactly. Ashley takes the season ticket money for granted, so if the majority of those holders cancel, or don't renew, then he may take notice.
  14. The thing is, if Ashley does decide to get shot of Pardew, its probably more likely now, than after that terrible run last season. We are (hopefully) safe, with nowt left to play for this season. In the past, he sacked Allardyce when we were 11th - no real danger at that point. He also sacked Hughton when we were 9th or 10th... but again, still with most of a season to play for. Only thing is, it'll probably end up being Kinnear that takes over, but until Ashley sells up, things aren't really going to change in general, regardless of who the manager is.
  15. After this same fixture and result last season, I felt sick... this time, just feel kinda 'Meh', but also angry. First treble they've done over us since 1920 something... double over us this season. Pardew shit scared of Poyet, and unable to lift a team for this fixture. This regime is just draining any love for football, and the club. Starting to wonder what the point is of supporting them anymore... with Ashley as owner, we'll just tread water every year, and sign no-one unless premiership safety is threatened. Time to go an get pissed.
  16. They're all hoping to get that first few months he had with us.
  17. We signed Foo Kin Nee Wan today. Think he's Korean.
  18. I think he does need a run of games to try and get his touch/confidence back (and learn the offside trap), but we can't give him that time, so a loan could be an ideal option..... if it wasn't 2.5hrs till the window shuts. So with that, I'd tell them to **** off!
  19. Unfortunately I think that's the only way - season ticket sales first would be a big indicator - if there's a huge drop in ST sales, it might make him sit up, due to the loss of guaranteed ticket revenue. Then it he would be relying on the 'on the day' gate receipts.... just have to hope enough stayed away. However, a no-show of fans at home games would doubtless affect the team, so its a difficult one to know whats for the best. Think first, we have to hope there enough of a drop in ST renewals or even cancellations to make him take notice.
  20. Stopped sending them once Ashley stopped dishing out free bacon sarnies to them.
  21. Are they over confident though? You would (as a mackem fan) hope they wouldn't be. Aye, in a similar vein, they say 'form goes out the window' in these matches, and it certainly has in the last two. So with Sunderland (arguably) being the better form side going into tomorrow, lets hope the cliche comes good again.

Only if your appeal is deemed 'Frivolous', like Sunderlands was that time.

No chance IMO. Makes you wonder why they have lodged it two days after game, must have seen something It does seem as though JFK has decided that a late appeal like this means he gets to play on Saturday, that's the way it worked when he was manager of the year don't you know. "Like having a new signing"

His fax machine must be out of paper.
  25. Wonder if the 'in principal' bit means the deal is dependent on us bringing a replacement in before the window shuts?
