  1. Probably had a panic attack on the A1 south, and been in Washington services since this afternoon.
  2. Having 2nd part of medical now according to Downie.
  3. Just seen Woodman to Aberdeen confirmed, so guess this must be announced shortly?
  4. Sky Sports ticker is saying Anderlecht rejected a bid from West Ham for one of their midfielders (Leander Dendocker) - not sure if that is the player they were expecting/hoping to sell.
  5. Only that we all think mitro had to leave for this to happen. Hopefully getting shot of some/all of Colback and Saivets wages will also help us afford Slimani, regardless of what happens with Mitrovic.

Just seen Grabban is joining Aston Villa for rest of the season. They still got to play each other?
  7. Apparently Samir Nasri has had his contract terminated by his club Antalyaspor. He's an 'orrible c*nt, but for nowt, would anyone have him here? Beggars/choosers and all that?
  8. Loan's not a bad option with the size of loan fees these days. A loan now, with a sale at the end of the season would probably see them get a good chunk of their money back. Reports suggested they would only sell to a PL side. Maybe this will be a loan (with fee) with obligation to sign in the summer, so we don't have to pay the full whack now. Then again, I guess there'd also need to be an 'unless we end up relegated' clause.
  9. That Spanish Gadgie has been tweeting again.. ?Alberto Santacruz‏ @ a_santacruz Follow Follow @a_santacruz More ?Alberto Santacruz Retweeted ?Alberto Santacruz Newcastle is waiting to convince Benítez not to operate by force. There is an Athletic-Merino agreement and the last red and white offer that exceeds 15 million convinces English leaders, tied by the statements of their coach, although they do not rule out skipping it. Is that suggesting the club are trying to force Benitez to sell him for 15m (euros I guess)?
  10. Couldn't find the Takeover Thread, so put this in here. Seems more attempts this morning to discredit Amanda Staveley again from David Conn (Guardian), followed up by Simon Bird (C*nt). https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/jan/30/claim-amanda-staveley-home-conservative-party-headquarters?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other Pity some Journo's don't put as much effort into exposing the current owner more, for his running of the club??!!
  11. http://www.true-faith.co.uk/sit-in-protest-burnley-h-1-feb-2018/ SIT IN PROTEST – Burnley (h), 31/Jan/2018 BY MICHAEL MARTIN • JANUARY 30, 2018 • NEWS • COMMENTS (1) • 1913 A group of lads who are not affiliated to any organisation but who feel strongly that some action should be taken to register dissatisfaction at Ashley’s desperate running of Newcastle United have asked us to promote an action they are behind. They are asking supporters to remain in their streets at the FT whistle and register protest in what is now sadly the traditional way. You all know the words to the songs. They are asking that stewards are not abused in any way. They are not the enemy. When asked to leave, please do so but then make your way to the Milburn Stand main entrance and continue the protest until 11pm when the window officially closes. This is not being organised by true faith or any formal supporters group. We will participate ourselves and hope this who feel the same join with this protest and spread the word accordingly. All the best. Wonder if they'll still do it if we win?
  12. 'We Enquired' will become the new 'We Tried'.
  13. That Sandro gadgie has joined Sevilla. Another one we wont be getting. EDIT: DOH too slow.
  14. If, and its clearly a big IF, there is any truth in this, maybe Merino's (back) injury is more longterm.. i.e. not be able to play too many consecutive games. Hence us taking first opportunity to offload, especially if we can get this Llorente kid in? EDIT: Aye, what Kaka said
  15. Earlier tweet from same bloke... Mikel Merino depends on Newcastle to be an Athletic player this afternoon. Total agreement for 6 seasons between Navarre midfielder and Athletic. English club already has on top of the table hardly rejectionable by him that far exceeds the 8 million that cost them.
  16. Have to have a listen again to tonights Total Sport. Got back in the car earlier, and apparently they'd had a caller come on that got Ando and Raisbeck rather heated... sounded the implication was that Rafa is also to blame for the lack of transfer activity or something.
  17. Stepping aside for us, then.... cheers Pards!
  18. Another that's probably a load of BS... http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/01/30/report-newcastle-interested-in-signing-real-madrids-marcos-llore/ Major Spanish outlet AS claim Newcastle United and La Liga outfit Deportivo La Coruna are at the front of the queue to sign Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente on loan. The 23-year-old is currently way down the pecking order under manager Zinedine Zidane, with the Galacticos boasting stars such as Toni Kroos, Luke Modric, Mateo Kovacic and Casemiro. It is believed that the Toon, along with Deportivo, are the "strongest" in the bidding to land the Real Madrid academy product, who made his debut under Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez in October 2015 during a 3-0 win over Levante. Spain's Marcos Llorente (L) and Italy's Federico Bernardeschi vie for the ball during the UEFA U-21 European Championship football semi final match Spain v Italy in Krakow, Poland on June... Now, Benitez is looking to form a reunion with Llorente, with Real seeing "no harm" in allowing Llorente to leave the Santiago Bernabeu for the second time on loan during his short career. He spent last season at Alaves. Now with 16 senior Real appearances under his belt, Llorente boasts huge talent and is renowned for his intricate array of passing as well as his ability to read the game and intercept opponents' passes. Real Betis are also interested in Llorente, as are last season's loan side Alaves, but working under Benitez for a second time could tempt the eight-time Spain Under-21 international. Llorente has three and a half years remaining on his contract at Real and although a permanent deal seems very much off the cards at this late stage in the window, the Toon could indeed land the midfielder on loan before 11pm on Wednesday.
  19. Mangala being mentioned again by the BBC, FWIW. Can he play up front???
