  1. Aye, I would be interested to see how he'd do in midfield in the championship
  2. we won't be like, not with rafa in charge...now if he leaves that's another matter btw i don't think the problem in splashing the cash is ours, if everyone else would just f*** off and let us lowball clubs we'd be fine Rafa is not a miracle worker, as it stands quality wise we have the 3rd worst squad in the league. If the likes of dummet, lascelles, colback, mbemba, mitrovic get anywhere near the first 11 on a regular basis we are f***ed Colback, Mbemba, Mitrovic, yes. Lascelles, maybe but Dummett is fine. We won't lose games because of Paul Dummett. I disagree. He brings nothing to the attack and is one of the poorest first-choice LBs out there in the Premier League. Lucky he's a left back and not a left winger. He's primary duty is to defend and at that he is very decent. Rafa will have us defending first, that's why he's getting a new contract. I'm not expecting Roberto Carlos or Ashley Cole. Someone who doesn't s*** themselves when in possession, can at least offer an overlap and deliver a decent cross. To not have that in the Premier League is shocking and we'll be found out badly. Dummett is a CB. In the modern game, a left back has to be able to do something with the ball at his feet. He's played about 2 games at CB in his entire career
  3. He was actually pretty poor when played as a 10 for us. Brilliant on the right though obviously
  4. We didn't need midfielders last season?
  5. What age were the kids? He was only 19 himself at the time
  6. Tbf being the main man could revitalise him again. Hope he does well tbh, quite like Rooney
  7. Lively, direct with questionable end product
  8. Tend to agree with this
  9. I think Hernandez is reliably better than Gayle tbf
  10. He got dropped at Leverkusen towards the end of the season. Still would been a good signing
  11. He seems well suited to the 1950's given his views tbf
  12. He was 22, players at that age will generally improve. As I already said, clubs do buy young players as backups initially but those players are expected to improve and become starters eventually. I think Spurs knew he would be backup last season but were hoping he would do well when he got chances, so that if Kane left he would be able to take over from him in a couple of years time.
  13. Good thing you don't run our club then. Most good clubs don't buy many players specifically to be backups like, bar keepers Not true tbh. Not many good clubs buy many outfield players over the age of say 25 as backups. Of course they buy young players who will fulfil that role for a season or two(which I would much prefer) but those players are generally expected to break into the team at some stage

  15. I really don't like buying players specifically to be backup in general

    Emmanuel Rivière

The only league goal he scored for us was one where he accidentally kicked the ball off his other foot and it went over the keeper iirc
