  1. Come on man, that's a really daft thing to say like. Attacking contribution doesn't begin and end with assists and goals, it's not Fantasy Football. To pick an extreme example just to make a point, Xavi's assist rate wasn't actually that high for Barca for a long time, but you'd be daft to measure his attacking play on those things alone Just because certain players are on the end of moves and get goals and assists doesn't mean they're better than the guys who start the moves. Some of the best players in the World have average goal and assist tallies
  2. Based on what? He's clearly a bit of a cunt but in all these interviews he only ever talks about wanting to play for a good team. I think he's motivated by wanting to win things rather than by money
  3. I would not. He is not good there. Only position where he has been above decent is as an 10. He's been better on the left wing that as a 10 for us. One of the reasons we're going down is persevering with him as a 10 for so long. Our good run towards the end of the season happened when Sissoko was moved there and Gini was out left/dropped
  4. Better full back than midfielder in fairness
  5. He was against Ireland too. He's a talented footballer that spends most of the time not wanting to have any influence on the game. That's why I dislike him. And also his comments after the season ended
  6. None of that even came close to actually happening
  7. He was shit in basically every game from January to May home or away
  8. I don't think he's suited to a team that keeps the ball more at all. Firstly and quite importantly he never looks for the ball so he would essentially be a waste of space in that system most of the time. He's much better suited to counter attacking football which is what Klopp really wants to play anyway
  9. A lot harder to find a class striker
  10. Nah Euro 2020 qualification is on first iirc
  11. Don't think that's how it works tbh
  12. what's his deal though? he's been bouncing around clubs for past 3-5 years, no? He's shite
  13. Generally yes but encouragingly a lot of our better footballers at the moment are coming through the League of Ireland system
  14. Helps results in Europe, better weather, not competing against English football
  15. Bohs had a game last night so that's not near their best team
  16. Players want to play for the biggest clubs. No point in arguing about it
  17. Ray Hudson is fairly enjoyable once in a while but I imagine his shtick gets pretty annoying if you are listening to him all the time
  18. Don't think he's a Rafa type player at all
  19. Keogh is good for the Championship, got in team of the season last year iirc
  20. Has he criticised Pardew in the past?
  21. I'm not saying he doesn't rate him but I think for sure he'll be totally ok with him going. I think he's playing a game regarding the fee tbqh. He's very replaceable and I'd trust Rafa to sort that out very quickly. Shame we couldn't have kept Townsend and kicked this bloke into touch instead. Considering his utilisation of Sissoko, I reckon he's one of the last Rafa would like to leave. Considering the amount by which the buyer will be overpaying, I think he'll somehow manage. I think he probably will manage, but that's beside the point. Given a choice he'd probably far rather keep him here, and everything he's said supports this. Now that might not chime with your opinion or others on here, but if you go by Rafa's words and actions that's the only conclusion you can come to. Whether you think he's an overrated wantaway cunt is neither here nor there, but ironic you compared him with Townsend who fucked off after 6 months to a club run by the biggest fraud in football history. The only conclusion I'll come to is the one resultant of all I witnessed him deliver these past few years and I'll be over the moon when he packs his bags and fucks off. Townsend showed more in those few months than this shitstick has in a few years. Very very very easy to replace a goal every 11 games from a midfielder and a handful of assists per season. Running so quickly with his head down and knocking people out of the way, I grant you may take a bit of replacing but I'm fairly certain we'll be ok. You can drool over Townsend alongside Pardew next season mate, personally if he gets his leg broken in the first match of the season I wouldn't give a toss. Why would I drool over a player at another club? I'd rather drool over the £20m too much we'll be getting for this hopeless cunt. He looks like a "hopeless cunt" some of the time because he firstly isn't a right winger, and secondly gets double marked because despite looking hopeless and not being a great attacker he is our biggest threat going forward. He played on the right wing for France obviously but his role was basically to win the ball, run with it and then pass it to the better players. We've never played him in this way since he joined. He's almost always been the one the rest of our team gives the ball to and hopes something happens Which is fine but it rarely does. That's kind of the point. By the way, this France superstar that you're raving on about, played in 5 games at the Euros. Zero goals and Zero assists. Are you deliberately missing the point like? for France he isn't a creative player, he gets it, runs and passes it the better players. This has literally been my entire argument in the last few posts You don't think RW is an attacking position? Of course it was a part of his job to create chances and contribute with goals . If not, why not stick the bloke at RB if all you want him to do is run FFS. Didn't see most of final but he was playing centrally from what I did see in that game. In the other games he did create a few chances but was there moreso for his tracking back and hard work than to create goals
  22. He should be class in the Championship. We'll be dominating possession more and he should be able to pick out passes. Wouldn't be surprised if opinion on him changed totally in the next few months
