On occasion he looks like he could do with a good kick up the backside. But on performances even before today, Thauvin, Obertan or anyone else don't deserve to be in front of him. He's consistently our biggest attacking threat from midfield in terms of creativity. If anyone in midfield squad was going to get 3 assists today, it would be Sissoko.

Fucking hell, he's picked an actual functioning team. Haven't seen any games this weekend so don't know if the right players are there but its a big step forward for him

A lot was made of that on the TV but I genuinely don't think he'd have caught Olsson anyway. He was already beaten. Maybe, but it looks awful and it sends a lot of signals to fans ect. Try the hardest you can and don't give up. Just saw this goal, he was miles away by the time he gave up like. Would have been pointless running after him. He probably should have been closer in the first place alright

Defended him for ages and then miss his best game ffs
-
Sickened I missed this. Sounds great

Aye but 5 years ffs

5 years, what the fuck?

Probably Germany because most teams play a high pressing style and take lots of risks

Pulis when asked about McClean, "He's not the sharpest tool in the box, and that's not being disrespectful to him."
-
Nah the one who has over 100 caps for Italy and has won a World Cup
-
Why is Everton Man Utd on at 3 today and us playing Norwich is a TV game tomorrow?

You have a point about club football but international tournaments are as good as they always were and the players have as much pride in their country as they always had
-
I hate him already. Aye fucking hate when the TV deal is brought up when talking about the relegation battle. Like it matters more than the actual football and the club

Nah, at no point he was even the best player at Real Madrid. He got a considerable hype machine on his side, though. Still a very good striker. Tbf at one stage all of the top 2 or 3 players in the world were at Real Madrid

Dortmund 1 up against Mainz. First time seeing this Weigl kid, seems a good prospect

Really annoys me that people always put this down to players only giving a fuck against the stronger sides. For years it's been clear that we don't know what to do when the onus is on us to attack. It's really fucking basic stuff tbh. People go on like every game is the same, except some teams are stronger than others. It's no surprise we struggle to break down weaker teams if our best moments are generally around counter attacking stronger teams with pace and guile. Just seems very basic, all this. Almost all our good players are suited to playing on the counter attack, its not anything to do with only wanting to play well against good teams

No keeper in the World is worth 20 points a season

Does it not stand a chance of conflict arising? If a large amount of republicans go then surely some trouble will commence when they come across they come across our fans? Do many republicans support the NI team? Do they support R. Ireland instead?, do they typically stay clear of football altogether? I mean there's a lot of connections between NI and English clubs. Shamrock Rovers have the Blazin Squad and Cliftonville, that's about it for ROI. Love how Messi is proud that Northern Ireland clubs have connections to English clubs and Irish clubs don't

Doubt any republican would support a team whose national anthem is God Save the Queen

Jesus that centre half duo Is Marc Wilson available to play? I don't like McClean starting games. I think you have to start with players with decent close control and passing while the game is tight and then bring on the likes of McClean with 20 or 30 minutes to go. Don't like Whelan either but we don't have many options. From your team I'd have Hoolahan and McGeady in for McClean and Murphy. McGeady fucked himself by not leaving Everton in the summer and is an unbelievably annoying player to watch but he can control a ball and occasionally puts in a decent cross, like for Keogh's header against Poland so I would start him. We need to find a way to get more opportunities for Coleman to get on the overlap down the right because at the moment we are wasting his attacking talents

He was class against Germany like. Not like we have anything special to bring in instead of him anyway
