  1. Wissa won't be getting a 5 year deal btw and I'm sure we've promised him a canny salary as well.
  2. AI says ap: Liverpool FC's total revenue for the 2023-24 season (year ending May 31, 2024) was £614 million
  3. Facts, our most polarizing window for sure.

Trips cost us 12m These things are not the same, it was also a relegation battle at that time. He also had the reputation of a leader who is a model pro. Very different profile.

All transfers come with risk, I'm not saying he will suck im saying he could. Im sure you understand the difference and if you re read my post and understand the context it may make more sense.

Absolutely, your right but no guarantees exist with Wissa either it's the nature of the beast. But the reason why every club is trending young is to protect the downside. Imagine if Wissa sucks? We are stuck with a very expensive flop we can't shfit without taking a ffp hit. I think the best example of this is Ramus Hoijlund @Froggyplease correct me if I'm wrong but once he completes the obligation you guys actually come out with an accounting profit correct?

Your bang on, the issue is the predicament was very much self created, why did we wait until deadline day to replace Callum Wilson, it's just poor work all around.
  8. Maybe it's just me but I can't help but feel our recruitment priorities have shifted, I expected this as obviously the manager has short term goals to hit and a degree of inevitably exists. (Why im not a fan of manager led recruitment). I'm sure Eddie will get the best out of his players , but I hope we haven't taken a step back.

Because it's PSR headroom on a player who will not appreciate. From a financial point of view these deal is awful it's likely annual cost is more than Isaks was

This is it my friend your safe to say it don't worry.

Depends on the agreement. I doubt Brentford have negotiated a clause which is worthless to them given they had the leverage.

He's not a bad player I actually really like him. I wouldn't ever pay much for him though because as I outlined i need assets to trade with, I need players who have high ceilings and can improve. Our way of managing psr was austerity and by Eddie's amazing work we somehow came out the other side without too much damage but that's not a trick which can be repeated.

Also it's important that we remember we've been bounced into overpaying because we've decided to wait to the last minute and capitulate anyway. Expectations are on the low due to the timing of things, I'm sure everyone would be less thrilled if you told them we'd be paying 55m for him at the start of June.
  14. I think your right, I don't think ouf owners are emotionally invested in the club we are an item in the portfolio. Liverpool are the apex of of FSGs football business where as the same can't be said for us and PIF. Other than Eddie we lack expertise and nouse when it comes to football matters partly due to a string of poor appointments.

We need to see the final fee and the contract length so we can guage the actual cost. I highly doubt we give him a 5 year deal and thus the payment will be spread over a shorter term. So if it's a 3 year deal the cost is higher than BFG.

Maybe we do maybe we don't let's see. Maybe he will score the goals maybe he won't but let's be real here 55m on a one season wonder who's 29 with no European experience and 2 years left is bad business. But it's all good I can't control what the club does and if people are happy so be it but let's no pretend we haven't put ourselves in this position and the club doesn't love to blame psr for certain woes. As I've said before I don't want to hear any psr complaints when we do such deals, Bayern Munich esque shit.

Ian, Isak was literally a wonder kid who had an off-season which is what presented the opportunity to us. Maybe that's big Nick maybe but other than that I'm not really seeing it.

Watkins would be even worse of an idea.

It's awful, we need as many players with resale value as possible preferable ones which don't cost the earth on an annual basis. This deal is the opposite. We need to be strong sellers and trade wisely but I think we are incapable of this and don't grasp such concepts.

Remember they had an actual agreement with him to sell him for 25m

No pre season so not up to speed and going on his jollies at an important part of the season. Absolutely mad.
