  1. It doesn’t help that much as you’re just pushing the cost into the next financial period. If we sign Guehi our net spend will be -100m already.
  2. It doesn’t damage the brand imo, although I do understand the sentiment. Ultimately that also isn’t a reason for not punishing them, but as we learnt during our takeover the league has a massive issue with transparency and ultimately the members toe the line.
  3. I’m also why Chelsea’s self reported breaches haven’t been dealt with yet, what possible reason could the league have for not doing anything?

Yeah they could but generally you wouldn’t want to pay more and would let the player choose at that point as your essentially bidding against yourself

Aye of course they are but for Chelsea it’s a contractual agreement, it protects them from overpaying if they want him back and Palace have to accept so they can’t create a bidding war using Chelsea for example.

It’s a clause they Chelsea have from the sale. If they did choose to match the bid the choice would be with the player. They won’t match the bid regardless so nothing to worry about.
  7. We clearly need full transparency on financial matters if we are to continue with these rules mind. If what he’s saying is true question have to answered by the league as to why it’s one rule for Chelsea and Man United and another for everyone else.

Nothing to suggest Gordon is a top 6 RW mind, I think he’s top class on the left but on the right he’s pretty untested. Miggy and Murphy aren’t players who have the quality to be playing for a top 6 Side mind I really like them both but I wouldn’t want to see them starting. We will have a lot of Cb if we buy Guehi when everyone is fit too, Jamal, Schar, Botman, Burn, Kelly and Guehi granted Burn and Kelly can play fullback. Hopefully we can shift some players and fill both positions.
  9. I think Berges role will be to launch counters no? ETH wants to make the most dangerous transitional team so having someone launch balls from deep might be the idea.

Haven’t read all posts in detail but has anyone actually come out and said he’d be a bad signing? I don’t think so right? I think the concerns well my concerns are the fee is a lot and we have weaknesses in other areas I’d like filled first. I think he will be class personally but question how we will be able to balance the books.
  11. The market has moved on, players who aren’t on an upward trajectory have much less demand now than before. Everyone wants younger players who have some resale value players are much more of an investment nowadays.
  12. It’s extremely quiet on the outgoing players front, it’s kinda jokes we still have Hayden Lewis and Fraser on the books
  13. Just remembered that Lewis hall was bought in this financial period so our net spend will be 100m+ if we get Guehi we’d have to flog a purple to spend big on a RW me thinks.

Got through 4 mins but to be honest, those kind of videos are just farming engagement. Total none update we have concrete interest might as well wait for a more concrete update for which I’m sure the thread title will be updated.

Ignore the twitter itk both clubs are optimistic. Palace want to sell because he’s got 2 years left and we need him.
  16. Yeah maybe but it’s highly unlikely that whatever is to be announced will bridge the gap, we are talking huge numbers here.
  17. City getting up to 95m euro for Alvarez is hilariously bad business by Athleti.
  18. Caulkin wrote our bit, same names recycled though. Funny how this column has been running all summer and Guehi’s name didn’t pop up once.
  19. Let’s hope we are going big and worrying about it later
  20. Athletic have been saying all summer we will use most of our budget on a right winger, I’m choosing to believe this. Literal self sabotage if we go into the season with Murphy and Miggy as our prime right sided options.
  21. PSR is absolutely turd, terrible for both football and the wider economy. As usual when such drastic rules are invoked very little thought goes into the wider implications of them.

I’m enjoying the ride personally, I’m also enjoying witnessing how we navigate FFP it certain adds another element to things. We flew close to the wind on this earlier summer, thankfully the cost was extremely low imo. I also wouldn’t class discussion and worry but hey ho.
