Absolutely if we talking about fairness we need to create some form of catch up mechanic to keep the playing field level. If we are the top players team others absolutely should be allowed to spend a bit more to try and compete with us. And all of this should be done whilst the future of the clubs are guaranteed.

Longstaff is a big different imo, obviously he’s having a rough time but for me he will always be a useful squad player who helps with Homegrown requirements even if I’m not looking at him to start week in and week out. And your right; Miggy fits the Wilson criteria of someone we should have been trying to let go in the summer too. I think given the way footballs going it becomes increasingly difficult to sell players of Miggy profile mind, everyone is basically targeting the same profile (young with potential to improve the sell on value). Club were clearly desperate to flog him in January as well. Ps we should have taken Bayerns money as well

You’re probably right but so what? You can’t be swayed by fan opinion particularly when it’s so short sighted. We had Hell when we sold Cole, still remember being in tears ( ) but ultimately we had KKs amazing communication skills and someone we believed in; Eddie can pull that off. Your right about the hell though; I did hint it during the summer and it didn’t go down well.

Wilson should have been sold in the summer. We absolutely must become good sellers to circumvent FFP.

You don’t have to worry, the poster is garbage who posts nothing but nonsense.

From what I read as well, the loan documents also stated it was for general expenses and not for the stadium.

Who knows, maybe they will come and give us our money back for Lewis Hall.

Please be true, Sir Jim in the mud if so.

if true.

And it would be a mistake, in concerned by what’s taking place to be frank. With Ashworth walking off in really concerned by any succession planning. Eddie clearly has a very clear way of how he wants to play and you either back him all the way or you let him go. One of the biggest issues with FFP Is you simply can’t make wholesale changes to playing style, you need that continuity which is why a sporting director who is place and in control of all these appointments must be there for the long haul. This season has really shown the weakness of some of our squad and in order to plug those gaps we need a lot of investment. Also the ownership have to shoulder responsibility by raising expectations and being SLOW. NO new training ground updates for how long? No updates regarding expanding the stadium /building a new one. Poor commercial performance (no stadium sponsor, no training ground sponsor, no training kit sponsor) we knew FFP was an issue but we’ve done very little to mitigate it, I know what the stated aims are (not sure I believe them) but I don’t know how they intend to achieve them. As fans all we can hope is all parties have learnt a lot this season and we to again next season with some lessons in our belt are a bit more savvy.

Next season we have to reset either we continue to back him fully or we get rid in the summer. Let’s not dither and half back him to get rid in November. I think we need to take a step back, fully back him in the summer and set the targets and let him see our next season. If he doesn’t achieve we make a change next summer.

Absolutely, I think the least worst in my view is the one which is the fairest aka gives the most people the most chance. maybe something like tiered membership is the way to go as you mentioned but i sincerely hope we make sure we have the capacity in future to get rid of such a thing, we really don’t want to limit our growth by gate keeping newer fans. We need a new stadium sadly, but that’s a whole other discussion

So then it’s a case of choosing who will lose, we could also get a move on with the first option too. The mouthy lad Sir Jim has been there for two minutes and he’s already cap in hand speaking about stadiums and asking for money. I think ultimately, no matter what is chosen a lot of people will be unhappy, basic tweaks as side (you should be able to choose your seat if your buying at ballot for example) should be done, other than that it’s as good as it’s going to get until we increase capacity. Im not sure gate keeping memberships and putting a cap on who can support the team is the way forward at all, we are trying to grow our fanbase not shrink it.

Can’t believe this is still being debated, anything which isn’t expanding the stadium or building a new one is re arranging deck chairs on the titanic.

If it’s me: everyday he delays paying in upping the price by a million, every time he opens the his mouth to complain another million. I’d happy see Ashworth rot if I’m our hierarchy.
-
Wouldn’t expect much of a compromise from us, we hold all of the leverage here.
-
It’s going to be frustrating right? Demand massively outstrips supply. We should be pressuring them to get a move on with expanding or building a new ground instead of complaining about a system whereby somebody is going to lose.
-
You’ll need it given the bag you will be dropping on Ashworth.
-
I wouldn’t write them off, I don’t think it’s imminent or anything like that but they certainly have the finances to achieve it. They were never going to win it carrying those 3 though.
-
Lauren’s love to stir. That being said I’m not concerned, at all. Would hate to lose Bruno but ultimately the rigged rules means we have to sell our best players at some point. Unfortunately that means we’ve always got to keep a firm eye on what’s next.
-
They aren’t shit and they are a threat, they’ve been horrible at squad building though, always massively top heavy full of attackers that need carrying.
-
Putting aside the relationship element here, but is Ashworth really the right appointment for them? Isn’t the structure ok in terms of academy medical, women’s team? Aren’t they basically dogshit at buying players and this isn’t really Ashworth strong suit either. Also, I know the media are wanting themselves silly over Ineos but haven’t they essentially made a pigs ear over this already? You’d have thought they would have reached out to us in double quick time to get us on side and playing ball, instead they’ve been leaking to the media non stop and grand standing about we will wait and we won’t pay whatever they want? To me it looks like they’ve gone into this with zero leverage and without a proper planning to try and get a mate on the cheap. All this talk of Barrada but is this even his appointment? If so, how can that be the case when he’s also on gardening leave and hasn’t started his role yet? It seems to be as though the media narrative and reality are quite different.
-
If hughes was a step up why didn’t we appoint him when we appointed Ashworth? My point is this, Ashworth is gone we need the best possible replacement and someone who is elite/achieved elite things. In this case that for me wouldn’t be Richard Hughes. But again, this is me spitballing, I’m not the authority or the decision maker, I’m just one guy giving his opinion on an Internet forum.
