Good tonight for me, held the ball up well and bullied Villas defence with an even temper.
-
Villa look like they've given up.
-
Not buying anyone in January is looking really clever right about now...
-
Exactly, they are happy to tick over being a champions league side and this attitude permeates from the board.
-
Interesting and surprising selection that. Hopefully it's enough would take a point tonight.

Talk about goal keepers union

Another very good performance from Yedlin, a manager like Rafa is perfect for him.
-
He's been good so far, that's without taking the assist into consideration.
-
Struggling without Gayle, Mitro just gives us no threat running in behind allowing Wolves to park on the half way line.
-
Wasn't intentional and he went for ball, that being said sub this guy now please, seems to be a liability.
-
Got a bad feeling about this one :/

Then what was the idea behind appointing Rafa in the first place? I would have thought it was pretty obvious if you are going to hire a world class coach who has won honours throughout his career, that he is going to have at least some ambition. This can't be a surprise since most of us were pointing it out even when the rumours of us going for Rafa were being circulated. Imo the board believed Rafa would be a sure fire bet at keeping us up. Rafa was given a new contract after we were relegated. I appreciate that, but that was due to the ground swell of support he enjoys and the expectation a world class manager will walk the league with minimal investment.

The money they've spent over the last 5 years represents the level of competitiveness they've displayed, they are par for the course imo. The only way they can progress is by spending a lot more to be truly competitive or find a manager who can get that little bit more out of the team.

Yup lots of moans about team selections subs & 4-4-2. Some people will never be happy.
-
he is a holding midfielder too let us not forget, can't be too disappointed when he doesn't sure fantastic composure in the final third.
-
Two million to all but guarantee promotion is peanuts, Ashley most likely gambles that in one night.
-
If the mirror article is to be believed it's all a moot point as he will be off. I read that article as back to the old ways of Graham Carr gets final say and we are back to buying players purely on the basis of re-sale value.
-
I think £2m loan plus £13m transfer fee is scandalous for Townsend tbh. Hes worth about £10m max tbh as hes declined since he played for us last Spurs paid 30 for sissoko, this is the market now.
-
The article is trash from our PR mouth piece, Townsend wasn't over priced in today's market that's just an excuse. They didn't want to spend in January and are surprised when everyone is pissed by this.

Pretty much this Might be able to function as a plan b throw him on when we are losing but given his finishing of late... maybe not.
-
Couple of mistakes which luckily didn't cost us.
-
We looked worse after he went off mind. Yup can't help but feel we really need his bite in midfield.
-
Good win that, wasn't a vintage display by any means but the boys showed a lot of fight which was great to see.

Hilarious really when British business men keep selling British football clubs but it's the fault of foreigners for buying them. As for British managers it would help if they were actually competent, foreign managers are brought in as they are better than the British equivalent and with the financial muscle the British clubs have they can now afford the best. Anyone fancy Brendan over Klopp? Moyes over Mourinho? No? I didn't think so.
